There is still a lot to cover. Granted the Kogami plotline is finished (he got revenge, started a new life, case closed) but I was half expecting the "Oh, we are gonna take down the Sybil system..." plot to finish off within the first series.

Quite how the 2nd will play out I have no idea but looking forward to it.

Yeah I personally was also waiting for the moment they'd overthrow the sybil system. There are lots of more stuff I want to know about. Even though most of the characters were resolved (EXCEPT THE BEST ONE - KAGARI) this anime has a possibility of becoming a great ongoing series. Even if there are lots of filler episodes with new cases a la CSI, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't enjoy the hell out of them.

But yeah, taking down sybil would be the next plot if they want to do it right imo.

Yeah...I don't want them to go the direction of taking down Sybil. It kind of goes against the dystopic setting if they do, and in the core themes of cyberpunk in general; that once the oppressive systems settle in, you simply just CANNOT overthrow them. They have too much influence in too many places, and have ingrained themselves so much in the infrastructure of society that removing them from the equation will actually do more harm then good.

(that and I honestly detest "Rah, rah, REVOLUTION!!!!!" storylines)

Honestly, I was originally baffled that a second season of Psycho-Pass was even going to be made, since I could not picture where else the show could go, unless if they went prequel on us. Since remember, they haven't really explained how the Sybil System came into existence and how it could have run Japan in the manner that it does. Don't know about you guys, but I'm extremely curious about how something like Sybil got accepted by the public.

A noitaminA rep presented at SakuraCon today.
1) For the summer quarter the programming block will be extended to 1.5 hrs so they can air a recut version of the first season of Psycho-Pass as 1 hour episodes. There's supposed to be some added scenes, not just two eps back to back. (I guess we're talking ~3 minutes per hour long ep since you drop an OP/ED pair).
2) Psycho-Pass 2 will air in the fall.
3) Psycho-Pass movie will come out in the winter -- date not specified.

*shrug* It's a business. I don't mind paying for something I enjoy.

Japan needs to learn the concept of "bundling". It is only a matter of time before they rule the world through anime. LOL!

Ending was a bit ho-hum with me. Interested to see where they go with it since Makishima was one of the reasons I kept watching.

Edit: Expand a little bit on ho-hum. Someone mentioned the Blade Runner idea of it being too ingrained to change. I was hoping for something a bit less cliche than "you can't alter society." Hell, Japan falling apart (villain? winning) would have been more interesting than status-quo ending. I guess I wasn't surprised enough and that in itself shouldn't be bad, but for me I just wanted more. I was hoping for a Watchmen like ending.

nice. psycho pass had an interesting concept. the only thing was that i felt it was compressed too much--that other characters could have been developed. yet maybe a season 2 will be good.
