Hatred for radio stations
Posted 9/15/13
The last good radio station hostess in this country was fired after she slapped a dildo on the wall on air.

I know there are other methods of listening to music. I was just pointing that out because I am at work and I cannot avoid hearing Adele for the 10th time today (seriously. It gets so frustrating that I start counting the amount of times a song or artist plays)
It is chaos! I hate radio stations! Haha. I stick with the stations from Windows Media Player or online streaming sites. My favorite so far is Grooveshark. Full albums and I can create my own playlist.

What?!
That's preposterous!!!

Just kidding.
The only thing with MP3 players is that it is your music or your choice.

I understand radio stations have a certain genre they want to follow; oldies, funk, jazz, pop, rock, and today's hits. My big hair pulling problem is that they only play about 20 songs and loop it until newer songs come out. I also understand radio pretty much became advertisement for artists like today's hits. They want to play new stuff and popular stuff. I get it, people like this stuff and that is great.

But is it really fun to enjoy the same 10 to 15 songs being played every day for hours??
I am a huge Iron Maiden fan, but if I got to hear 2 of their songs along with other bands looped the whole day, I would go nuts!

It is just a frustration. Not really trying to change the world or anything. Internet radio is obviously the way to go. Or YouTube

The only radio station I can stand is the NY classic rock station (Q104.3). Mostly I just stick to listening to albums on my iPhone.

Mainstream music nowadays just sucks. There are only a couple stations I'll actually listen to.

Mainstream stuff is terrible. I do not understand the amount of attention they get. I just never understood why when it is clearly terrible. Just now, I have heard that terrible Katy Perry song where she sings about how a man put her down but she got back up (you know, like every other song out there?). Something about her being the eye of the tiger or something. The chorus is just....terrible. Sorry for the Katy Perry fans, but we all have opinions.

Lorde- royals
Gotye feat cambra- used to know

And I'm not talking on alternative channel only. Hip hop and R&B channel, as well as another station that plays rap. And then some. Ever heard of a reggae version of used to know? How about a dubstep remix? Then a techno version. All my stations I listen to played them all on an hourly basis. The radio is not my friend. YouTube channels for music is my only friend, now.

Haha, you know how it is, man! It is ridiculous. I have heard Bruno Mars on the radio at least 6 times so far. It is stupid and they claim they play ALL the new modern stuff. That Call Me Maybe song plays every hour. I just cannot think of another word other than stupid. I am not supposed to play music loud on my work laptop, but I don't have people near me, so I do it anyways. I can spot someone from FAR away, so the mute button works there and then.

What I don't like is when local radio station itself says that it's commercial free or 50 minutes commercial free. After playing 3 songs, the commercials take over for about 10 minutes or so.

That ain't commercial free.

Not to mention, if you're guys used to be in Miami and listening to 96.5 fm in the morning, the main host of the morning show was rather always sick or in vacation. Yes, you. DJ Laz. The pimp with the limp. He only popped in whether his nephew, Pitbull, was doing something new or he had something to do with Pitbull for an upcoming event.

Guess what, bitch. That DJ Laz-y is no longer in 96.5.

Yes! For example slacker radio. I put in...lets say Cannibal Corpse...and I get Aerosmith...lolol. Like I said, I use Grooveshark at the moment and I am liking it.

Commercials on radio are seriously ridiculous. The commercials here in Ohio sound so dumb and cheap. And yes, they are 4897234987234 minutes long after 2 songs that should not belong on the "rock" station. A lot of DJ's are stupid and not funny at all.

I am glad you guys feel the same!

That's why I don't listen to radio anymore unless my phone died and I can't play music on the go. I do enjoy listening to phone taps though, they're funny as hell. Other than that I go on IHeartRadio and config a custom station to my liking and then download the songs I like for later use. I do look up the "top 40" every now and then because I do occasionally like some mainstream songs here and there.

Forgot about Bruno mars. The gorilla song now. At first, it was funny. Now, too much. And nice, haha. Personally, it's mini speakers on the phone in my general place, since people move constantly. The weird part is genres I don't like, I take a liking to, just because I haven't heard it. As hipster as it sounds, it's just like a breath of fresh air, at times.
