if you want to watch it on a chronological sequence.. i can probably help you out, but it will involve back-and-forth switching between the series.

I'm probably just going to watch based on order of release to avoid back-and-forths lol but thanks

Dang, can't wait. Seems like it will be set far into the future?

That's what I figured, but it seems like there'll be more with the Magius in the "present," and probably a few more flash forwards. If there's gonna be a timeskip, it might be the second half of season 2.

Just finished watching Afro Samurai and the movies today. Holy hell, that violence and fighting. The MC is so gar and I think this might be one of the most violent historical theme series I've seen in quite awhile.

Question: Relative to the overall market, how big is anime in Japan? I had kinda been under the impression that it was common on television stations and pretty mainstream (as in, people just go home, don't turn the TV to any particular channel and can find an anime on), but I read somewhere (not super credible, mind you) that it was a niche thing in Japan.

Alright, now jokes aside. This industry has been around for decades, it is targeted for the domestic Japanese audience and market. If you consider it's consumer buy-rate as an export, I can only imagine how large the industry is in comparison within the production zone. If you've watched pv's for games, vn's, mangas, and anime you'll see that they market this shit like bees on honey in Japan, but sadly they cannot do it over-seas.. So I think it's safe to assume it's revenue should add to a healthy portion for the Japanese film industry.

Now i'm not saying once you turn on a t.v. in Japan that you're going to see gundam, naruto, lucky star, and what-not. Without any values I cannot pin-point how large it is in contrast to other power-houses of the film industry. But what I can say, is that it's certainly not a negligible market in Japan.
