I am a fan of late 80's-90's hip hop and rap.
Mainstream rap is garbage these days, but there is still good stuff to be had if you are willing to look a little harder.

I for one despise hip-hop/rap.
I find that there is no talent/ skill involved in it and anyone can do it. I can easily write rap lyrics in like 10 minutes.

I enjoy the Nerdcore rap styles, and some of the late 80's early-mid 90's hip-hop. Otherwise I generally avoid the current trend of it.

I'm w/ the rest. Eighties/nineties rap was the best, hands down. I can't stand what they put out now. A lot is either auto tuned to the max or they rap about how they got so much money and how they have bitches everywhere they go. Most of it is repulsive too. I also don't understand how women can listen to something that's so demeaning to women in general. I tend to stay away from that stuff, for it's disgusting and very confusing at the same time.

How about it was never good?
Formula for rap verse = 10 minutes of writing nonsense, done.
Anyone can do it
