Perfect timing, to be honest.

That's around the time where I would have finished paying off my tuition debts, got my life together etc etc... (maybe finally have a boyfriend too)

and me travelling the world. Perfect time to stop by Japan and also watch some gymnastics

Olympics.

Why give a hoot in the first place?

It's super-athletes competing in a big sporting event that costs way too much and changes nothing for no one except the athletes and their families.

I dislike that in today's world we idolise sport stars and TV entities instead of giving more focus to people and things that matter, like scientists and advancements in renewable energy sources.

Anime would be delayed regardless of where it would have been held, so there was going to be delayed anime no matter what.

Olympics has nothing to do with politics unless they try to make something of it. Russia decided to pass some controversial laws, and now the Olympics is being used as a political tool to fight/defend it. I don't see Japan, especially in the future, doing anything political with it.

I can't wait to see what the Opening and Closing ceremony will be like. My guess is that technology will advance enough to put out some remarkable and memorable performances. I also want to see if they perfect that holographic Soccer streaming idea and use it...that'd be awesome. Have the vocaloids perform. And even though it'll be really late, It could help boost the Japanese economy and help them recover from the Tsunami/earthquake...Something positive for the people there.

I'll be 27-28 by that time...damn, that feels like it's going to be a long ways away.

as it says what do you think

The current Fukushima radiation and Tepco radiation water spill issues could change this for them. Hopefully they can keep focus on keeping their people safe and healthy. Keeping the games on top of those efforts would be a bonus.

I doubt they would build any facilities near Fukushima to even be considered remotely dangerous. Most events will take place in and around Tokyo (Way far away from Fukushima), so there really should be no worries about it. I would be shocked to even hear any mention of Fukushima at those Olympics.
