Koe no Katachi began a weekly serialization in Weekly Shounen Magazine.
The first Chapter was ~50 pages long, and it seems to be an extended version of the one shot.

So, thoughts?
Has anyone else read it, or will you be reading it?

I read the one-shot before and it was pretty damn good. The ongoing manga is starting from the very beginning though so some of the first chapters might be a sort of recap..

I read the one shot and chapter 1 and chapter 1.5 that just came out. When i read the one-shot I thought I was going to cry to be honest. It's hells-emotional.

HOPEFULLY the people who are scanslating it can put it out weekly, or someone will pick it up and do it weekly. I love the concept, it's different.

FANTASTIC! So glad CR picked up this manga. It is a gem! (It only has about three volumes left, evidently...)

I just caught up with this amazing manga last night. I am blown away! This has been the best read that I've had in a very long time. I can see this becoming an anime, and a great one at that. I feel that it's gonna give the same impact as Kotoura-san, if not better, when it does.

I would love to see this become an anime. But see as how the author got sued to prevent the manga from coming out, I can't see any studio animating it.

I read the one shot some time back & then soon after found out that it was continuing. From ch 1-29 I enjoyed reading it, it's something new that I haven't read before.

You are misinform my friend, the author didnt get sued. Its because of the subject matter that the manga had to go through alot of trouble before it can be published.

I don't know the details of the lawsuit, but there was significant resistance to the publication of this series. However, the Japanese Federation of the Deaf has officially put their approval on the series and it has won awards, so I could see it being animated eventually. If the Japanese don't do it, I think someone else should contact the author and do it! Live action or anime, the story is good enough that it deserves a wider audience. I have told both of my children that they MUST read this manga!

I recently came across this manga through "other channels" and am thrilled that it's now on a legit service. I'm hoping it gets a physical release before too long, as this is one I want on my bookshelf.

And it's really good that a story featuring a deaf primary character, deaf issues and sign language is not only doing well but crossing into other countries. I've been discussing with my (deaf) girlfriend a lot in recent years that not enough deaf characters or plots seem to hit popular media. and although manga is fairly niche, it's great to see such subject matter being picked up through official channels.

And, as far as i can tell, it seems to touch on real issues faced by deaf kids learning in regular hearing schools. Regardless of country.

I'm really enjoying this series, Chapter 30 really impressed me with Shoya's problem solving skills and how much he[s changed from chapter 1. I just wish it was easier to get my friends into the series. Can't really pitch this series to a bunch of High School Seniors easily, eh?

I've been following the series ever since the first chapter was posted. Such a great read - I've never seen anything like it. It doesn't matter what genre you like, its impossible to hate this series.
