Oh and if the recent P.A. Works anime your referring to Tari Tari then lol nope Sawa's eyes look so much more relaxed and doesn't stick out like KyoAni eyes do.

Sawa's eyes are absolutely fantastic! I did a fairly long and drawn out post somewhere (I think on the MAL Tari Tari fan page) that detailed how they even used the size of her pupils to show that she was attracted to Taichi, along with body language and other prototypical signs of attraction. But I digress...

BTW, I would generally argue that PA Works is superior in almost all ways to KyoAni and all the other studios, with the possible exception of their ability to adapt source material. Fortunately, their best work is anime original. KyoAno appears to go the other way, they are better at adaptation than writing their own stories. With this project, it is an adaptation, but it is an adaptation of a light novel that won a contest and was published by Kyoto Animation. I guess that is still an adaptation... LOL. It's like the contest was picking their next animation project as opposed to a winning story. I guess it probably means that it is a story that will translate to anime well. Not all light novels will...

(see how I brought the post back on topic. LOL)

Yea her eyes really look well for her face shape and it just suits her. I don't know about her being attracted to Taichi beyond normal friendship
but let's not get into that since it way of topic lol.

Anyway, so yea i know that this is a light novel that won a contest, but that would be cool if it really was the winner of the contest gets an adaptation. Tried to swing it back too lol

I don't know if the KyoAni contest winner automatically gets an anime adaptation... That would be a nice perk. I read the prologue the other day and it has one of the stranger beginnings that I have read. Not a bad start, but I haven't had time to read any more...

Do you think this show is gonna be the rival show to Bakemonogatari or seen as its own entity that people will either love or hate due to its own merits? The last thing I want is a stupid fanboy rivalry going on. KyoAni's fans have a tendency to be really stupid though.

I think it will be its own entity. One of the appeals of the Mongatari series is NisiOisiN's dialog. It's snappy and fun to listen to. Plus there's the outrageous interactions between Araragi and everyone else.

Kyokai no kanata my share the supernatural aspect of Bakemonogatari, but I think that's where the similarity ends.

Why would it have any relationship to Bakemonogatari? It is totally unrelated.

For people that would like to know what they are saying in the PV Videos, This page has links to the translations for the PV and CM videos. Other links on the site have translations of the web-site text, including translations of the character descriptions, etc... The basic story universe seems to consist of "Xenors" and "DreamGhasts" (Youmu). The Xenor's job is to slay Youmu and their powers are passed genetically. The main female character, Mirai, is from a family of Xenors who can manipulate blood as a weapon and is shunned because of this "gift". The main male character is an extreemly rare "Half-Ghast", the child of a Youmu and a human. He is immortal and his wounds heal so quickly it is as if he cannot be hurt. (I assume he can be hurt, it just heals quickly, but, like in Angel Beats, it still hurts like hell.) Normal humans cannot see Youmu.

The same site is also translating the light novels. The translator appears to be very good from what I have read and also responsive to readers.

I won't bother responding to the dig at KyoAni fanboys, since I am actually a PA Works fanboy... Oops, I guess I did respond to it...

I can't even say off-topic anymore lol

So...about that Kyokai no kanata lol. I really do think this will have opposing groups between fans and haters just from the look of moe characters with action. What do you guys think?

It's not like moe + action is a new concept in anime...

The first two PVs are telling me that the show will be interesting...

But the third one is telling me that it's going to be a boring show...

...

I'll check out the first episode to see.

I feel a distinct lack of hype.

I dunno, maybe the KLK trailer stole it all away, but I can't bring myself to look forward to this yet, and I'm not exactly sure why.

I think it might have to do with the character designs.

Do you dislike all the other shows from Kyoto Animation? It's pretty much a carbon presentation of how Kyoto Animation "does things" in all of their latest anime.

Nah, it isn't that. I loved Chuunibyo, and generally their designs are nice. I think I'm just having trouble fitting the "cuteness" of the designs into the seemingly darker plot. Maybe that's it.

Either way, I'll watch it because I'm hopeful for some great animation, so maybe the designs will grow on me.

It will really ride on how well they do the action bits. Judging by the previews I imagine they will definitely be aesthetically pretty. Kyo Ani has an amazing track record with their animation...I just can't see this anime being anything other than gorgeous to look at.
