I got really curious all of a sudden.

I was really wondering which anime's y'all would most likely recommend to other people. Some people have a bunch of anime's they would recommend but what would be your NUMBER ONE suggested anime?

Mine would probably be Dog & Scissors for right now. I seen some amazing anime's but I think Dog & Scissors would make anyone laugh and the story is very interesting, although random at times.

Give me some reasons why

It could be for people that are already into anime or people that have never watched anime before. Which ever you prefer.

The first and foremost anime anyone should watch is: Samurai X, Trust and Betrayal. This is an anime everyone should watch.

and for the dark side: bible black.

Are we talking to someone who is already into anime or someone who has never watched an anime before?

*wonders if people are sick of him yammering about Toradora!*

I guess I would say Toradora!

Reason 1: A romance that actually ends with people together.
Reason 2: The Christmas bear scene.
Reason 3: Not too many of the anime tropes that would throw off non-anime watchers.
Reason 4: Excellent portrayal of real, non-romantic (at first) love.
Reason 5: Pretty deep cast of characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Reason 6: I just finished it, so I'm still thinking about it a lot.

But seriously, I don't think you could go wrong watching this anime. There are a lot of things to love, and while, sure, you could nit-pick it to death, it's a pretty incredible love story.

Angel Beats

Not very long. Great action. Emotional. Characters are good. Loved the ending.

Guilty Crown, Steins Gate, Higurashi, My little Monster, Durarara

out of these five, I can't choose a favorite.

The best thing about Dog & Scissors is the OP since it reminds me of Someone Else from Working!! I guess I could recommend it for that.

The anime I recommend to most people is probably GitS.

If they are looking for a very light hearted anime thats just fun to watch, Dogs & Scissors certainly isn't a bad choice.

But for me personally I would recommend

Steins;Gate
Fate/Zero
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Angel Beats

And, Nyarko-san for something that more light hearted

There's no way I could pick just one...

Grave of the Fireflies (and everything else by Hayao Miyazaki)
5 Centimeters Per Second (and everything else by Makoto Shinkai)
Usagi Drop
Mushishi
Time of Eve
Bakemonogatari series
Death Note
Steins;Gate
Black Lagoon

And it hurts to leave many others, including romances and comedies off the list.

To people who aren't already familiar with anime, I'd say Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon are good gotos, so long as the viewer doesn't mind some violence.

I like warmer fare;

Haibane Renmei (which is still the only Anime I'm unable to rewatch because its' paradoxically just too good), for your warm, visually striking, slightly bittersweet.

Aria for the sheer calm and beauty in every possible direction.

For both of them, they're not huge action or battle shows at all, but just stunningly beautiful and deeply uplifting.

Edit: My prescriptions only work for some people though, they're pretty dry fare for most people.

That was Isao Takahata, not Hayao Miyazaki.

I'm typing this from the point of view that these people have never watched anime

Kuroko's Basketball (Very well-done shounen that doesn't need you to be familiar with old shounen tropes to fully enjoy)
My Little Monster (my favorite shoujo, out of the few I've seen. Funny and mostly drama-free)
Sword Art Online (the vast majority do like this anime, believe it or not)
The World God Only Knows (extremely easy to watch shounen rom-com, and the manga is good)
Baka and Test (accessible and lol-worthy every episode)
The Devil is a Part-Timer! (deeper-than-you-would-think comedy with a silly premise and surprisingly good execution)
Monster (Really good seinen series that's very believable, with a very involved plot)
Toradora! (A rare harem comedy that has well-executed romance that develops evenly through the story. Seinen rom-com)
Attack on Titan (cause why not)
