Unless something has changed recently, the cancellation would take place immediately, so wait until the last day (or for a support person to say I'm wrong.)

Hi there!

Per your request, I have went ahead and disabled your auto-renewal for you. So once your current membership expires on 2013-09-25, it'll just cancel on it's own instead of renewing.

The best way to control your auto-renewal per month would be to purchase gifts for yourself. Gifts are non-recurring and won't renew after the expiry date. Users who purchase 3 and 1 year memberships also have the ability to disable their renewal.
