I want to cancel my free trial but it says "Could not cancel, due to billing method not verified"! Help me!

Sounds like you tried to cancel pretty soon after your started. It usually takes a day or so while they get that billing info verified, and after that you'll be able to cancel. Please note that (unless something has changed fairly recently) when you cancel, it cancels your trial immediately. If you want to continue using the trial period then wait until it's close to over before canceling.

That just so that people that forgot to cancel to then get chargde for one month.

Looks like Crunchyroll is still playing the "Oops, did we forget to mention...?" game, and it's still a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen. (Unless they can convince a jury "anytime" (below) means "if we feel like it", and that they "have to verify billing information" for an account they're not supposed to charge once it's cancelled - you know, since it's a "free" trial.)



A few other things you'll need to know that they forget to mention (spoiler tags contain extra information):

※ The system frequently jumps the gun and marks you "Pending" day(s) up to 2 days before the end of the 14-day period, preventing you from canceling - so it baffles me why any ethical customer support person would tell people to wait until the end of the 14 days. (Maybe they're new and don't know yet.)

※ If you sign up, they will not allow you to take your card number off without putting on a new valid card number, because reasons.

※ I don't know whether they ever fixed it (doubtful), because I've had other things to do for a few months, but CR accounts keep getting broken into.

※ Same qualifier as above: Not only is your card number usable in the Crunchyroll store, there's no way to designate it as being for subscription use only.

※ Same qualifier as above: For reasons only they understand, Crunchyroll refuses to let you revert when an intruder changes your email and password to lock you out.

※ Same qualifier as above: If/when you cancel, take a screen shot of any confirmation(s) you get.

※ If all else fails, bring it to the forums. It's strange how much more responsive they get when public embarrassment or legal action comes into play. (In one slew of cases, their state District Attorney had to get involved.)
