Surprisingly yes, after encountering/seeing many people from my old high school acquaintances from around campus and the bus. However, that's my current experience influencing my answer.

Really though, it's pretty obvious that almost everything happens for a reason. If you watched Higurashi then you'll get what I'm talking about.

Fate is stupid.

I think it's mostly believed by extremely religious people, thinking they live to serve god (Whatever god they chose to worship.) and have no other purpose (This is not an insult to religious people or religion itself, it's an insult to religious idiots.) Thinking that everything that happens is caused by their god, and that everyone is a pawn of them.

If I offended anyone, mods can handle this.

It all depends on what is implied by 'reason'....if a bullet is fired out of a gun, the reason was someone took the time to load it, squeeze the trigger, setting off the primer which in turn ignites the gun-powder. The explosion sends the bullet racing out of the barrel to it's target....what ever that target is. This analogy can be applied to ANYTHING. In this case, reason=cause. However, if the author of this question intended reason to be equivocated to 'design', then I'd have to say no. Accident is the prime mover of nature, and that has been proven time and time again with uncanny accuracy by quantum mechanics. It's all about probabilities. But that's just me.

It's a nice thought but sadly, at least in my opinion, "destiny" or "everything happens for a reason" is kinda bullshit. I feel that, like religion, people tend to use it as a crutch. I also don't believe in things like luck or karma.

Bad things happen, occasionally, without any rhyme or reason. Good things happen, occasionally, without any rhyme or reason. Some people refuse to accept that fact and try to place blame on some higher "thing".

I'd be lying if I said that I didn't wish for magical, fantastical things beyond our understanding to be real. I'm sure we'd all like to be that "chosen child" that's meant for greatness, but that's just not the case, though.

Again, just my opinion and I mean no offense to anybody that believes in that sorta stuff. To each their own.

It kind of depends on what you mean. Look at it this way:
We all live our own lives, our story's own main character. We interact with other main characters from other stories, and these interactions, or simply an action done at some earlier point in time, can and does affect the other person. In a way that ties everyone and everything together, to bring about one story, with many overlapping stories constructing it.

In another way, to say that all things that happen is due to some big plan probably isn't so. Dropping a pencil then picking it up again does little more than frustrate and burn very few calories. But, this may spark some idea, or cause certain dust particles to move around to cause someone to sneeze, thus causing another action.

I don't agree with "what's meant to be happens" for the little things. I think that there is an overall plan, but that that plan has to be altered whenever humans do bad things, and even though there are changes at the margin, the overall plan is still the same.

I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.
