I think you need to broaden your Jpop selecation because you just made a huge generalization that could easily be argued. You probably dipped into the mainstream scene. There are tons of Japanese artists contrasted to your statement. Open your eyes a little.

There's a wide variety of japanese music.. And besides, I dont know about you, but usually when I listen to songs from another country/culture at first my impression would also be like but eventually I do like some (most) of them.

Dont get me wrong , im up for any music, but things like J-pop , when its all techno and the singer sounds like a opera artist .. i sometimes think maybe its because they don't/ can't sing with an american accent like more western countries. but i just think it sounds weird anyway. (i still listen to it)

It's just you...

I listen to Jpop but I don't find them singing like opera singers. or maybe I don't understand what you mean.

For the most part, I know some agency value their talent's voices, like the better singer gets good solo or something but they're not too critical on most of the lot. Like the audience might not be too critical of them either. In Jpop, most of them are considered Idols anyway so they do other stuff which (in my opinion) are their strongest point. Eg. SMAP on varieties/drama. (I can only speak for mainstream)

I find them different because regardless of the language, singing (for example) a ballad in a high pitched tone (like a genki in an anime) surely would catch my attention. That's for the introduction, if you won't get used to it, then they''re not just your cup of tea. - I can't say much about other genres because I only listen to a few ones (anime soundtrack mostly) and they happened to be "normal" since it's the same tune but maybe different approach or I don't know.

Different in this case isn't really equivalent to being weird.

Vibrato is a popular vocal style in Japan. That is probably what seems weird to you

Yeah a lot of them sing pretty nasally... Sometimes that's a good thing... a lot of times not...
