Read up on the manga and I'd say we only have an episode or two before we catch up to what's translated. This Linda thing makes me wonder how much of this show is going to be about Banri's inner demons. This is turning into a great season.

I totally agree. this season kinda started off with a pace that felt really predictable, but i feel that in the episodes to come, its gonna get really good.

I have a feeling she is going to redeem herself later. Banri has got some serious issues, and I think that he may hurt the people closest to him a lot before he sorts it all out. I think he is going to need someone to get him through it, and I think that person will be Kouko, judging by the OP.

Edit: Of course you can also officially start shipping Linda now

The best moment of the story so far: When Kouko yells at Mitsuo that if their memories don't mean anything to him, to forget them all, then, after he leaves, what is she upset about? Is it that the man she has loved and followed around for her entire life just made it perfectly clear that he will never even date her, let alone marry her? NO! She is upset because she just used forgetting all of your childhood memories as a way to express her anger and she is worried about how much that must have hurt BANRI, her only real friend.

That is the moment when Kouko became a real girl and not an archetype.

Well said. I thought the same thing. She apologized immensely to Banri. At first I didn't catch what happened so I had to go back a minute and replay it.

Have you tried reading the fan translations of the light novels on Baka Tsuki? They've translated up to part of volume 3. The end of volume 1 is where we're at right now in the show I think. I read it a while back but can't remember :/

Hmmm, might have to check that out. The manga has been kind of stalled.

Yea, idk if he isn't trying to criticize her because he doesn't know what to say or if he doesn't want to criticize her because he likes her. I mean I know when I've experienced something similar my comment would be that you shouldn't base how your life is on how a person feels about you. I have a real problem when someone says "I am nothing without "said person" or "My life is meaningless w/o so and so." So, If I really wanted to be nit picky I would say somehow Banri needs to make Kaga-San realize that her life needs to be about her and not about Mitsuo. But, maybe after this episode things will be different. Kaga-San did seem to take to heart this---> "I realized I've never thought about Mitsuo's happiness."

Idk...as a guy, pretty girl is trouble, especially one with whom I've had some shared experience with, is likely to get sympathy from me.

QFT. And because I hadn't picked up on that when I was watching. I really need to pay more attention to things...maybe I'll go back and marathon the first four eps tonight...

Don't worry. It took me a second time to pick up on it and my respect for Kaga-San picked up immensely despite her moments that make me wanna pull my hair out.

I seriously want to shoot myself with a tranquilizer and wake up next Thursday, but then I wouldn't work so no money to pay for Crunchyroll premium. Oh the irony!

Don't worry, it is massively subtle. I remember when I read that part of the novel. I had to re-read that section over about five times, because I was positive I had missed something. I kept thinking, why is she apologizing so much? Sure, it wasn't a pretty scene and she and Mitsuo pretty much forced Banri to sit through it, but why apologize so much. Then I realized that what she said about forgetting was the key. It even takes Banri a second to parse it. It is a huge indication that Kouko has learned from her mistakes. She displays empathy for someone else and that, combined with her own regrets over the way things worked out, cause her to go over the edge.

And, sadly enough, I too had to back it up and re-watch, because I knew that what just happened was really important, but I couldn't quite figure out why... All it took was seeing the word "Forget" when I backed it up though. Then I remembered... funny how that works. LOL

Yea, that word "forget" nails it. And when she realizes it you can tell as a viewer it hits her like a ton of bricks. More than anything she seemed more upset about how she possibly made Banri feel than the whole Mitsuo situation. It makes you wonder if the 10% she mentioned in episode 3 isn't more like 50%-60% (Banri of course).

I actually think I am going to put this one on hold until it gets farther in. Idk if I can last until 24, but maybe at least through twelve. The serial nature just is really messing with my experience of the story. Wish me luck it staying strong!

I smell a love triangle coming after that episode ending, or some sort of crazy shit to be explained between Banri and Linda at least. Though it's hard for me to say what will happen from here. On one hand I see Banri with Koko, at least for awhile, but on the other hand I see something between Banri and Linda as well. Even not including Banri's forgotten past he seems to have a thing, albeit a slight thing, for Linda. It's hard to wait week to week sometimes for these shows...

I don't care where the story goes. I am loving the journey so far. I feel bad for Linda, though. Hopefully she is a strong one!
