I'm really enjoying the show, from the OP through the show to the ED it's all great but I'm sad because pre-sales numbers say this is going to make Sakurasou look like a big hit by comparison. Predicting just 1000 copies sold at this point so unless a future episode can really catch people's attention, it isn't looking good for sales.

Light novel sales aren't really up either which is too bad. I have my copy of volume 7 now...

After episode 3 I was curious enough to keep watching. I was interested in learning about the past and seeing where things would go forward. Also, the main annoyance that was placing this in "drop" territory after episodes 1 and 2, was sufficiently well-behaved through most of episode 3 that I thought we were mostly past that and moving along in such a way that I'd be exposed to it less.

Then comes episode 4 in which stalker-san becomes even more obsessively jealously ridiculously stalkery, and I just don't think I can take any more of that. For me it's extremely unpleasant and not something I find easy to just set aside my feelings about. I kind of wonder how others are able to tolerate it enough to enjoy the show.

Basically I just don't trust, even though we are seeing moments of Koko reforming a little bit, that we aren't going to be subjected to her being unpleasant over and over again every episode.

(Also, what is it with anime and young adults/teens taking so damned seriously romantic promises made when they were tiny little kids?)

For me, I don't mind Koko. I didn't like her in the first episode, but since then when she's away from Mitsuo she's funny and charming. There's a sense of balance because she knows her actions are wrong, and they really only end up hurting herself. I find the whole stalker routine annoying rather than hateful.

Whereas with someone like Masuzu Natsukawa from Oreshura I'd like them to receive some harsh justice.

I pity Kouko. It's hinted that she has been more than bit spoiled. Dad is a big shot who was probably never around. She wears designer clothes and takes taxis everywhere etc. She is pretty enough that she probably got away with whatever she wanted in school as well. She is also very insecure for some reason. Perhaps feeling a lot of pressure to live up to her family's image of her. She attached herself to Mitsuo at a young age and for a while he seems to have been cool with it. Then he decided he wasn't cool with it anymore. At this point, her identity is wrapped up in this perceived relationship. When comething, like Chinami, threatens that relationship she stops acting rationally. I think that the only reason she has been able to accept Mitsuo's rejection this time is that she has spent enough time with Banri to feel that she can exist outside of her relationship with Mitsuo.

It isn't a child's fault it is spoiled, it is the parents. Kouko is in the real world now and she is learning at 18 or 19 years old that things don't always go her way. She is insufferable and more than a little crazy. I think Banri feels for her because he knows what it's like to have your childhood crumble and to lack a sense of identity. I don't see Kouko's antics continuing for too much longer, unless she starts attaching herself to Banri.

My main interest in the show is Banri not Kouko. I am interested in seeing how he deals with his amnesia. Up to now he has been a bit of an ass. Refusing anyone's affection because he feels it is for someone else. He hasn't let anyone from before the accident get close to him, not even his parents. One of the things I like about this show is that the characters are complex. Banri is outwardly nice, but more than a little self centered. Mitsuo says he wants Kouko to go away, but I think is going to miss her attention when she finally goes. Linda is for some reason keeping her distance from a close high school friend, and possibly romantic interest.

I've read part of Nisekoi, but as far as I've read it seems mostly sweet and genuine. It's still a little odd, but it's only if there ends up being a lack of consent that I'm troubled. Two people who were childhood friends/sweethearts who rediscover each other and end up building on that childhood closeness....awww. sweet. Two people who were childhood friends/sweethearts who rediscover each other and are a little embarrassed about their childhood promises and struggle a little with how they feel about each other now that things can get more serious...interesting. Two people who were childhood friends/sweethearts where one has clearly moved along and is now happy to be just friends (or less) and the other clings...annoying. (At the stage of Nisekoi that I've read up to, they are still playing the game of hmmmm...just who does have the key to the locket and is therefore the childhood sweetheart?)

this is my exact problem with the show. I was ready to drop it after episodes 1 and 2, but then I really enjoyed episode 3.. episode 4 had me on the verge of dropping it again. I'm just giving it one more episode before I really make a decision about it. I'm hoping Koko changes, because I did enjoy the show when she wasn't being such a creepy annoying stalker.

he has the most idiotic name ever.

question: say you were in the same shoes as tada (ie: you lost your memories)

the setting: you have a girlfriend and you got into an accident and forgot your memories, 1 year time skip, no recovery. Then a random (for the sake of 'actual' plot) girl appears in front of you, events happen, you fall in love.

Then comes along your old girlfriend (because in the case of you you were insecure about meeting the people who knew your old self).

Well, if the opening means anything than there is good likelihood her stalker tendencies may disappear unless she eventually does the same thing with Banri (that's of course if the opening is true and Kaga-San and Banri become a couple). While I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Kaga-San more importantly Banri has the worst positioning after episode 4. I think it will bite him in the ass hard for confessing to Kaga-San while she's still in the love throes of Mitsuo, but now he has to figure what to do about Linda considering the picture we saw of them at the end of episode 4.

it is more along the lines of, they have so much free time (of course for the story it only shows that), but that free time seems to be so lax. I remember spending most my waking moments if not in class, in a laboratory slaving away on a cure for heart disease or diabetes, then I'd go to work. I didn't have time to go on this "cult recruitment" and subsequently get a girlfriend from that.

High school I was watching anime and playing lacrosse.

^ and it's supposed to be a private law school, you'd think there'd be less down-time. I'm sure the rigor is credibly high in Japan as well.. but then again, anything goes in anime.

edit: I also think it's futile to compare our lives to anime, because we both know how depressing it is to do-so.
