Episode 1
The OP was alright, the characters look pretty cute too,but a bit cliche.

Thought it was funny how Banri and Mitsuo both decided to follow those 2 girls. They already seem like good friends.

Lol'd at Kouko beating Mitsuo with those flowers.

"A tsu-de-re."

Chinami is pretty cute, like her seiyuu's voice too.

Linda looks beautiful, didn't notice that Kayano Ai was her seiyuu so that was a pleasant surprise.

Possible love interest between Linda and Banri?

Also I'm getting the feeling that Banri is going to start liking Kokou which is going to cause Mitsuo to fall in love with Kokou.

Great start was expecting to drop this this episode, but will continue watching.

Also haven't seen Toradora! but Kouko reminds me of Taiga, maybe it's her hair/appearance or something.

Koko couldn't be anymore different than Taiga.

Tiaga is a tsundere (pretends disinterest to hide attraction), but Kouko isn't. If anything, she leans a bit towards yandere (I'll beat you up or kill you if you don't love (only) me)

Dang, what is with these harem protagonists? All he did was stumble around and he already has 3 potential girlfriends... Why can't actual college be filled with girls and hope?

^LOL, well some of us get to have that type of college experience

Maybe you're going to the wrong one?

I'm going to a predominately engineering college, and it has such a bad girl:guy ratio lol, doubly so since I'm actually in the engineering major. Every girl gets taken in the first week.

Well, THERE'S YER PRO'LEM! LOL

I like the 1st episode a lot. I don't now if it's follow novel more closely, but i like that it's not exactly like manga. This small differences makes watching for these who already read manga a lot more interesting.

I agree that the description is misleading. I hope they will correct it, since if i don't know about Golden Time before, and only read description, I would probably omit the show or put it on waiting list.
It is NOT the same as the novel, not at all. I haven't read the manga so I'm not sure which is closer.

It's funny that the OP totally spoils the relationship as well.

The following spoiler is only for light novel readers....

I can just smell the upcoming drama

Linda, sorry girl but you already lost

So if I'm seeing this right, it'll be Banri x Koko (that's basically the guaranteed end result)

That leaves Mitsuo who I'm guessing will go with Linda or alone

In some ways I really hate it when I am familiar with the story (to a certain point at least... as in part way through chapter 1 of Volume 3) because it

A) Is never as fun to see a good story progress the second time.
B) Can be massively frustrating if the anime doesn't actually tell the story well. (I'm lookin' at YOU Kami no Iru Machi!)

However, knowing the story ahead of where it is, seeing the posts by people like the anime reviewers and dozens of posters on ANN who all said things like: Generic characters, horrible female protagonist (god I hate that type of character), boring leading man, etc... All of them implying that the story would be worthless and that it would be boring as hell and predictable. But, when you read people actually predicting, you see things that make you think... OH! Just you wait! It's a BUMPY RIDE!!!!

WARNING for the TIMID:
*****Golden Time IS a full on COLLEGE story in the light novels. If you are offended by underage drinking, live shows and sexually provocative clothing, and intimation of potential sexual relation you should steer clear!******

One of my favorite comments in the Author's Notes section of the light novels is when she says "When do these kids ever STUDY? I think I am abusing their educational futures with this story." or something like that.

The spoiler is also really only appropriate for Light Novel readers:

This brings up a very good point that I have been thinking of; What MOE archetype best describes Kouko? As you mentioned, there is a bit of Yan, but not really... She isn't going to KILL Mitsuo, she just wants to have him for herself. There may be a bit of Tsun there too, but not really... You know... She isn't ANY OF THEM! And the further the story goes the more you realize that Kouko is not an archetype at all, but a fully realize, well developed (no, I don't mean that way... OK, I mean that way too, but... ARG You know what I mean!), and realistically portrayed CHARACTER with plenty of flaws, plenty of positives, and a ton of character development. She is also sublime in so many ways it is hard to mention...

Oh, by the way... I'm kind of a Kouko fanboy, so you may want to take my opinions with a grain of salt.... LOL

As typical for a JC Staff production for another romantic comedy, slice of life story, which I am greatly admired for their works. Above that, the animation for it seems lighthearted and relaxing, as well as the characters were interesting from the start.

Ah well, the ending scene kind of caught me off gaurd. Also the OP is good and ED is really catchy.

Episode 1: "Spring Time" | 3/5

It was alright. Nothing groundbreaking (as of yet)
but I did like that it is in College setting, rather than the usual High School setting.
It looks interesting enough. That ending though.
I'm hoping for some serious twist somewhere along the way.

If you want to enjoy a study in contrast, compare the reactions to Golden Time here, on a site where people come to watch anime and be entertained, with those on the Spring Preview feedback thread (and reviews in the preview). It appears that people that post on sites dedicated to actually enjoying anime enjoy it more than people who post on sites where the primary goal of people posting appears to be arguing and showing off how much of an anime snob you are.

eh, I didn't really dig the first episode too much. it just felt like your average romcom with a school setting. they may have claimed it was college, but it could've been high school for all that it mattered. I'll watch a few more episodes and see where it goes.

It was an enjoyable first ep. There's definitely a Honey & Clover vibe, with comedy and romance mixed into a college setting.

Well this will probably be my favorite series for this season. I liked that first episode quite a bit.
