My take on Kaga is that she isn't bad, just spoiled. She's rich and attractive and probably never gets confronted about anything. She needs to be treated like a real person by someone. In that way she is like Amin in Toradora . I think that she is a little lost without Yana because her identity is tied up in them being a couple and she is unable to cope with that identity being shattered. She isn't clinging to Yana, she is clinging to the two of them being a couple. The more she spends time with Tada and others, the more she will develop a sense of self independent of Yana. This has to happen before she can love anyone, because she doesn't love herself.

Right now her world is crumbling and she can't focus on anything, so she is having trouble with Tada's name. They need some kind of shared experience to bring them together and solidify Tada in her mind.

She got his name right!

Loved this episode again. One thing I appreciate greatly appreciate about this (the same thing I appreciated about Toradora!) is that we already know who the final pairing is. I loved that, because it lets me just sit back and enjoy the story without having to theorize or worry about who is going to end up with who. Definitely see some drama incoming, which is not a bad thing at all.

12 or 24 episode? Anyone know?

Also, Keima snuck into the ep...

Yes, 24 episodes. 8 DVD/BluRays with 3 episodes each. Two glorious cours of Kouko! I'm in heaven!!!!

As for the Tea Club girls and their behavior: I doubt that they wanted sex from any of the guys. They wanted entertainment and slaves! You notice that they weren't lovey dovey with any of the guys, right? It was: "Poor my drink!" "Get more sake!" Next would be "Rub my feet!" and "Dance, monkey boy, DANCE!" ... oh, and "Either drink this concoction of whatever it is or strip off your shirt, put on a makeshift sumo diaper, and wrestle this guy you don't even know!"

But more seriously, while some guys would jump at the chance to party down with a bunch of drunken women, remember that they were DRUNK! No matter how sexy a girl is, if you are not drunk, have never had alcohol and are still a "good boy", and are confronted with a drunk woman, she is not pretty, and she probably smells like booze, which tends to be a turn off if you are sober.

Also, Banri is one of those idealists who really wants to fall in love with someone, to dedicate his whole heart to her. That is not compatible with getting kinky with a bunch of drunk girls in most idealist's minds. (I understand Banri... I was Banri,
. When I started college, I was dating my high school girlfriend (until she dumped me right before Christmas of my Freshman year.) At that point, quick, easy sex was the last thing on my mind. I wanted to find someone that I could love for the long-term, not lust for the night! Because of that, I tended to avoid parties, other than the ones thrown by my friends in the fraternity that I was joining. We were a small group of mostly geeks, so our parties didn't get too wild and everybody knew everybody else too well to have random casual sex happening. (It was also the mid-80s when casual sex had just developed the potential to be lethal! It is amazing what AIDS did to the party atmosphere at college campuses!)

Lucky for me, one of my "sempais" that was a psychology lab assistant invited a girl from one of his lab sessions to one of our parties, specifically because he wanted to introduce her to me. She is now my wife and has been for 25 years. It can happen Banri! Keep dreaming!

Seems we are kindred spirits in more ways than one! I too had my high school girlfriend at first at university until she dumped me. I met my now wife at university as well so Banri indeed can keep dreaming. And from the OP it looks like it ends well for him, doesn't it???

But many of my friends at university... did not mind the casual stuff. And if I'd been more popular I probably wouldn't have minded it either LOL But I was and always have been a geek so few girlfriends but that's OK really. Quality not quantity, right? And as you say, being promiscuous was scary too. Still is. Monogamy is much safer and satisfying I think. For all that I enjoy a good harem comedy, School Days is not really that fun in the real world even if you don't have a nice boat ending.

And yes, 24 awesome episodes! So pleased! Just wonder how many novels they'll get through. 7 main novels (the most recent just this week) are done plus several side story volumes.

I think the "well now anything goes" part of this episode for me was when that one member of the Tea Club rolled right into the crotch of another member.

I think we need to call this move "Tea Clubbing."

Episode 2
Kouko has no friends since everyone thinks she's too high class for them.

Lol'd at the Tea Club's appearance and them taking Banri away. They really know how to throw a wild college party.Lmao at that rolling chick.

Sumo wrestling,Banri vs Takaya(aka 2D-kun).

Linda looks really pretty in causal clothing, hope she gets more screentime and we get more Linda x Tada moments.

Banri keeps getting invited to club while Kouko hasn't had one invite because of what was previously mention.Kouko is sad and feels invisible.

Banri and Kouko spend the rest of the day with that talkative club member and get invited to a club retreat.

So next episode is the new club's retreat, can't wait to see it.Really glad I gave this a chance and didn't skip out on this cause it's really impressed me these 2 episodes.

Does anyone sympathize with Yana? His whole explanation about how it feels to have a pretty clingy girl around you is b.s. imo. I get it but c'mon stop being a weenie. If he'd just sack up and shoot her down properly instead of running away then it wouldn't be a problem. Then again there wouldn't be much of a story to tell -_-

I agree that Yana's dislike of her is plot forced but I thought he shot her down, to her face quite thoroughly in the lecture hall and yet she went clop clop clopping after him in her Pradas. Both Yana and Kouko are over the top unbelievable in their one sided hatred and affection for one another but... That's pretty much their characters in a nutshell at this point. So just accept them for what they are and read / watch is what I'm doing.

I'm liking it so far. Certainly the last third of episode two was starting to show a greater depth and maturity to the characters personalities. After episode 1 I'd felt Tada was fairly weak, and Kaga was just manic.

Linda's been my favourite character so far, but I can't help but feel things won't go well for her.

Episode Two

I really, really, really enjoy this show. it's hilarious and sweet but I'm still waiting for the supernatural part of this...it's making me really anxious! the opening was very mysterious and if I can remember correctly, last episode ended on a really mysterious scene. I started to read the plot somewhere and pretty much spoiled it for myself but it's obvious that the injury he had has a lot to do w/what's going to happen or what's happening already. who was the kid holding the flashlight? looks like it could have been Yana. anyways, don't go reading too much into Wikipedia about this one because it'll explain too much if you haven't already read the light novel & manga...by the way, there's a game coming out in 2014!

the Tea Club is absolutely amazing! the rolling girl had me rolling! head in the crotch!? I was like, "you guys didn't!? ...so awesome." Banri is totally looking to fall in love. I hope he falls in love w/Koko! Koko & Tada! by the looks of it, the opening credits makes it seem that way. maybe another love triangle but w/two girls in this series. the Festival Girl, Linda seems to have a thing for Tada and part of me wants to see her win over Tada but she'll probably suffer.

This show does seem to be shaping up to be one of the potential heart string pullers this season, I think it will be a toss up between this show and Nagi no Asukara as to which has the most tear jerking moments. I can tell Golden Time is already doing it's job when only after ep2 I'm already pulling for one of the girls, we'll have to see if this follows the Toradora! route and relegates the other suitors from the outset or if it actually keeps the audience guessing. I think that may have been Toradora's main weakness in that it never felt like there was a competition and the final pairing felt telegraphed relatively early.
