I blast music in my car as loud as it can go and for some reason its just so much better when you have your windows rolled down. Sometimes I turn it down at an intersection, but only sometimes.

My favorite is listening to Japanese music at loud volumes, especially the Attack on Titan theme songs. No one expects it.

I fine with people having music high in there cars. As long as your car don't vibrate. Get a better car or get your car fixed first.

I blast mine as loud as my stereo will go ( sadly not as loud as I want). So I cant complain when others do it.

I blast when appropriate. There's generally enough background noise on highways and main streets to make it so your music isn't crazy loud and disruptive to other people. I'm assuming that the volume is at the level at which you (the driver) aren't getting headaches or that 'muffled ear' feeling when you finally turn it off. That means your music is almost certainly too loud and it is damaging your ears. And possibly your speakers. If you look into your rearview mirror and the glass in your car is vibrating so much you can't clearly see the traffic behind you, your bass is too much and it's probably too loud.

It's nice to listen to loud music, but there's a limit to how loud you should turn it up and where. If you're turning it up to levels at which you can feel it damaging your ears while it's 11PM in a neighborhood with no lit windows and your vehicle's windows are down....then, yeah, you're a douchebag.

I blast when:
-I'm on the freeway
-There are a lot of cars
-It's a large street or a main street
-It's not a residential neighborhood at night
-It's not a residential neighborhood in the early morning

I turn down:
-Around cops (best not to attract the attention of these government-backed thugs who will abuse their power with little or no provocation)
-At night in residential areas
-In the early morning in residential areas
-If I'm lost and have to listen to the GPS

It's not that hard to have some common courtesy. If you doubt whether you should blast or not, there's always the option of rolling up your windows to muffle the noise a bit.

Hate it. If you want loud music, use headphones or close all your windows in your house.

I've always hated that. I have the worst neighbors because they do it. I decided to piss them off by playing mine with the stereo system and moving the large speakers outside. It worked after half an hour later when they stopped playing theirs.

One simply does not listen to PANTERA / METALLICA on low volume.

If they have good speakers, and not those crappy ones that hurt your ears, I'm totally fine with that.

Same here, though not quite as loud as can go. And I'll typically turn it down if the car next to me has their windows down, but if nobody noticeable has windows down, it stays the same volume.

I blast trance music though, which is probably as popular in the states as the Attack on Titan theme lol.

I don't know the exact law, but I'm almost positive it's illegal to drive with headphones on. I believe the law states that you have to be aware of emergency vehicles, and although you can do just as much damage with a booming system, headphones are more noise cancelling and will obstruct sirens moreso than car speakers if turned up too loud.

Don't quote me though, it's a law broken commonly, much like changing lanes in an intersection and turning on No Turn red lights. But I digress.
