My guess aniplex will bung kill la kill and magi on daisuki since they want to make people give a damn about the crappy site...i guess i'll wait and see though since they could grow a brain and give uk rights to all 3 eventually once they notice nobody cares about daisuki lol

OMG!, thank you, thank you, thank you so much for Magi 2nd season and Kill la Kill!!! *O*.

Really thank you so much, Crunchy and Aniplex!

But I have a question regarding Magi... both seasons will be available in Latin America or just the 2nd?

If nothing better comes for the UK I'm just gonna bow out of Crunchyroll this season.

Well, most anticipated of the season but nothing for EU. Guess its time to get my yarr on, explains why they wanted the positive hype before releasing regions though

I honestly don't understand how licensing works. I mean, the production/distribution companies MUST know that Kill la Kill is going to be a blast, and everyone wants to watch it more than anything else. It's almost more hyped up than Attack on Titan, and that's saying something. More importantly, it's Trigger's first BIG production (and they already were largely successful with something as tiny as Little Witch Academia), so they should be wanting to ensure as widespread a distribution as possible. So why, WHY, for the love of God, not licensing it for Europe? What's the point? We all know it's going to get fansubbed by uncountable groups and pirated more than it'll already be if they don't arrange a legal release. It's thousands of people begging you to take their money. Just do it.

(I'm not talking to Crunchyroll, I mean Trigger or whoever decides to give the rights. I'm pretty sure Crunchyroll would have been all too happy to have Kill la Kill as widely licensed as possible)

I really hope CR manages to get the rights for these series in other regions later on. The only one we got here so far is Diabolik Lovers and while I don't usually judge a book by its cover, I have to say it definitely doesn't seem like something I would like. Hopefully there's still more anime to come that reaches our region this fall season.

Blame Aniplex USA and they're stupid plans to distro the show via a ton of different channels most of which arent available outside the US.

They simply stick to "old" way. Similar to like music industry was/still is afraid of internet sales. Well selling by track disabled that opportunity to force fans to buy whole album for only one song, or what worse intentionally filling album with crap so you can say that one good song for price of several. For us it's better, but for them it's worst.

And I can bet it's hard to even convince them that there is any point in licensing anime for non-english speaking countries like France or Sweden if you translate them english only.

And anime industry is based on selling hugely overpriced nearly empty dvds. I think most anime producers don't even consider other ways for main profit. Really with every year it's getting worse, some time ago i saw 3-4 episodes per dvd, but now 40min per DVD/Blue-ray is standard, and i even saw series with 1 DVD = 1 Episode + 5 minute special.

Personally i don't like these cheaty methods and stupid seller tricks. And i don't want to change hundreds of dvd just to rewatch series. All these becouse it's more profitable to sell 12 dvd for 10$ each then 4 for 20$, and you can boast about lowering prizes.

Similar how i would subscribe with automatic renew for Crunchy if they would allow to buy non-renewable membership with paypal or credit card. But since they decided to use that old merchant trick counting on laziness and forgetfulness of customer rather to just convince them to do it with quality of service, I won't buy it. For me it's a method of dubious seller of newspaper subscription not serious business...
