My personal favorite by far is Beautiful Life (2000). Takuya played a hairdresser (Shinji) who fell in love with a paraplegic librarian Kyoko (Tokiwa Takako). This multilple award-winning drama was excellent in many aspects, not least Takuya's acting!! His persevering and uncompromising attitude to win her love against all obstacles (family objection included) was only one of the reasons I love it so much. The others were his kawaii costar Takako, good supporting cast and great script. Ahh, that kiss! Other notable faves are The Grand Tribe (Takuya once again outdoes himself here!), Love Generation, Good Luck!! and Pride (so fun to watch!). Trivia: Takuya himself became a certified hairdresser after Beautiful Life.

Sure people would likely to scold me if I tell them that I chose not to watch Beautiful Life & The Grand Tribe bcoz sad ending

I know what you mean! The pilot uniform and short hair combo on Takuya was just too potent, I watched Good Luck!! in 2 days it was that great! Ended up buying the DVD too lol. Not the original Japanese version but it'll do. Ooh I drooled over that maroon trench coat Takuya wore in Good Luck too!! Did you guys notice the coat even matched his car (Toyota 4WD) so nicely? Talk about product endorsements - sigh KT is king keke!!

Coz there are many Hero newbies out there so I think they tried to stick as close to the series as possible to attract more fans.

I like his character in the drama too, dark, cool, mysterious, and totally attractive.
