Me too man, me too. According to their facebook page, they're not Sure of it yet. But they did say, that they will make an announcement once they do decide to do just that. Hope it'll be by the end of this year, cause seriously it's only up to 6 volumes now. Am I right?

Kinda of late, but I love the Final move's name last arc. In a world of Super long descriptive Jutsus and hidden power last minute gamble move: Serious punch is the best.

So this new arc- already with the comedy.

We're not worthy!!!

m(_ _)m

This is gonna be super awesome.

They better not present it like how Gantz was drawn in anime.

I really hope everything is beautifully animated, except Saitama, who looks like he was drawn in as an afterthought. That's the only way this can work.

Exactly. Saitama HAS to look like he was drawn hastily in 30 seconds except for his really BA moments. Otherwise this anime just won't do the manga justice.

Bump to vent (and to say buyer, beware).

I've been reading One-Punch Man in Viz's Weekly Shonen Jump via subscription. It's amazing!

It's amazing enough that even though I don't tend to buy volumes of stuff I've already read, I went ahead and bought the One-Punch Man digital volumes that Viz has been putting out (I don't like print, but I did want it all in one place so I could re-read it, and re-see Yusuke Murata's amazing art.) Amazing Art like that found in a series of 17 2-page spreads in Punch 21 Giant Meteor.

Guess what? In the digital volume (Volume 4) that contains that chapter, those 34 amazing pages are replaced by 2 pages containing 3 panels.

I can only imagine that they were anticipating making the volumes available in print, and they were cutting costs -- so instead of basing the digital volumes on the original as it appeared in the English-language WSJ, they based it on what they planned for print production.

That's speculation on my part, but who knows in how many other places they did something similar (I'm tempted to spend my Memorial Day off on a page-by-page comparison of all seven volumes that are now out digitally). I do wonder how this was handled in the Japanese volumes, because for those of you who care as much for the art as for the quirky story, I'm thinking you might not want to waste your money on Viz's version, even if it does come out in print.

So sad. One-Punch Man without this:

Instead they give us this:

I don't really mind that they changed that as much, but I think they could have made that sequence, by simple printing each frame in landscape form over one whole page. You would then have to flip the book on it's longer side and voila! You have a somewhat similar experience by quickly flipping through the pages, like a Flipnote animation.
But guess that would be to expensive to do but regardless of that, I just want these volumes on my shelf.

UPDATE about the missing pages: I am almost as pleased with Viz's Customer Support as I was disappointed with the change I found in Volume 4. I honestly didn't expect any response, but I got a very thoughtful and professional one explaining the change. I'm still not happy about it, but I understand the reasons (I work for a publisher, which helps me say, "yeah, I understand" even as I grumble a little). Anyway thought I'd share:

Hi Lorreen,

Thanks for writing in, sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the change in One-Punch Man graphic novel. We do not actively take out or cut material from our compiled volumes, as we basically only license and publish material that is created from Japan. This change is present in the Japanese version of Volume 4, which is why it is also different in our volume than the chapter in the weekly issue.

For the specific change in Volume 4, this was made by the creator of One-Punch Man, Yūsuke Murata, so that it would fit the format of a complied graphic novel. Since the page count for each chapter of this series varies so highly from week to week, he had to redraw certain parts of different issues so that they would fit the page count of a volume.

Really sorry that you were disappointed with this change, but we hope you continue to support us in the future!
