The greatest thing about knowing what your problems are, is the realization that something can use it to your advantage if you put the effort into doing so. I don't know about you guys, but a change of perspective has worked wonders for me (and a number of other friends who have gone through things as well)

Well, it's also a product of no-one of your sexual preference showing any kind of interest in you. I've personally only ever had two women show any amount of interest sexually/romantically. The first was pansexual (basically, she was physically attracted to personality traits, rather than physical attributes), and the second was a random girl in a club (probably rather drunk, and also rather unattractive herself).

Men feel unattractive if women find them unattractive.
Women feel unattractive if they arbitrarily decide that they don't look like the image they have in their head that they want to look like.

I definitely agree with the women thinking they don't look good enough due to personal opinion but its generally created by the opinion or that women are harsh on each other, we were just discussing this in my women and literature class today.

As for you, you might just not be looking in the right places, but girls are generally not going to go up to guys either, they usually look for the guy to do that.

if i ever feel unattractive,
i'm sure running into a pole
would fix me right up;
either that, or it would rearrange
my visual features,
in an novel and
under-appreciated way.

Not really, honestly. Back when I was in middle school, then yes. Once I got into highschool, I met a guy who told me, "You know, the moment I realized that I was ugly, I started getting laid." Of course, I wouldn't consider that top-notch advice coming from some freshmen at the time, but at the same time, it made me look at myself a bit more.

I know I'm not a supermodel or anything, but I don't see myself as ugly either. I feel like I'm more of the "cute, dorky" type, so I choose to embrace that side of me a lot more rather than aiming for the "sexy, alpha-male" type since I wouldn't be able to pull that off. I will also admit that, after being thrown in a situation thanks to somebody who didn't really like me, asked a rather cute girl how I look on a scale of 1 - 10, she gave me a 6/10. So knowing that, it's nice to think that I'm at least above-average, even if it is only slightly.

I actually make fun of myself sometimes to break the ice with others in a confident way, though that might be a bit hard to explain. My nose is rather large along with my head (unless my hairstyle is covering my forehead, then people hardly notice). But when I talk about myself, I'll usually say something like, "Well, I got big hands, a big nose, a big head, some big feet, and I'm pretty tall. I guess you could say I'm a pretty big guy. -smirk-" People often just laugh/giggle and then I can start a conversation from there. I made myself vulnerable by saying that in a way, yes, but at the same time, it sort-of takes the pressure off the other person from having to think, "Oh, I need to impress this guy," or something like that. Just sort-of relaxes the person I'm talking to, so the conversation flows.

So yeah, I never really feel unattractive when I'm with other people. My confidence keeps me that way, I guess. I mean, I have a decent job for someone my age, I'm educated, I have a goal in life, and I love myself.

Though I'm not really the out-going type, mind you. I prefer to be reserved and to myself, but if someone came along and talked to me, even if that person was someone like Leonardo DiCaprio, I'd still feel attractive.

Yep, every day. Comes with the turf of being Anorexic, which most people laugh at since I'm a guy.

I can't say yes entirely, because I feel more unwanted rather than unattractive. I just never really felt like I belonged or whatever, so I guess somewhat yes but mostly no.

Once upon a time yes. But I have learned to be super confident all the time. No matter what, if you are confident in yourself, others will like you. Even if they deny it.

People feeling unattractive and moaning about their appearance makes me so mad. Especially as 99.9 percent of the time, there is nothing to feel insecure about. Why is that humans will absolutely despise something wonderful they have simply because it is not noted and praised by others. And if something despicable was glorified, they would long for it?
I often get into yelling matches with my sisters, because they do my head in with all of their whining about being ugly.
I have yet to meet someone who is content with themselves; someone who doesn't need to brag to prove it, nor participate in self-hate ceremonies for fear of being labelled as 'vain' (as I do) otherwise.
