Writing. I hate writing, but I love having written.

I can only read for learning purposes. I see no pictures in my head at all when I read. It's so boring. I get more pleasure out of staring at an aquarium for hours at end, truly.

And when I write. I spend hours editing my grammar over and over again. I'm never happy with it.

Poems / lyrics, too. Although, not as bad as the former. When I stop writing, and look at it again a few weeks later, it looks ridiculous.

You can't visualize what's going on as you read too? I do the same when I write stories sometimes as well. Every time I read, I cannot see what happening in the story the same way, if I were standing there viewing it in person. I see only word but not the events happening in each chapter which is so annoying. My grammar makes me wish I was back in school or Microsoft Office get their shit together. I haven't read a book like I want to in a LONG time.

When I write, I see everything-- and I want to add every bit of detail, but it's just too much. I've written one manuscript, and my trick was that I wrote every important event that I could think of down in steps "They go there." "That happens there." Like reminders, or a grocery list, on post-its. And when I had squeezed myself dry, I put it all together, in a timeline. Boom. Manuscript done. Just like that. Then all there was left was to find an ending that didn't make people angry, which is impossible, because nobody is ever happy with the ending. My biggest problem with manuscripts is writing dialogue, really. I have no problem coming up with banter, but depth invoking dialogue, just no.

But yeah, when it comes to reading other people's work. I just can't do it. And that makes me question my own ability to write, a lot.

Yeah, I feel that about my writing too. Once I write a chapter, I sometimes don't know how to go about it. The dialogue bothers me only slightly though. In the past I use to write up to chapter 5(don't know why)and just stop out of nowhere. I wonder if my problem with reading affects my writing some how. I can't stand it when that happens.

I am none in excess. I was an avid reader as child; an avid writer as a teen.
Consider me a writer if you'll accept the unwritten dialogue in my mind as writing.

Writer, if you could really say that since I have writer's block super bad right now. I have one story I'm writing for a friend that I'm getting yelled at for not writing, and another that's upwards of 70k words that I haven't worked on in forever. I need to do something, but every time I sit down to write, I just hit this dumb wall and nothing happens. I'll get over it in due time, I suppose. I'll just wait. And wait. And wait...

Writer's block is annoyingly terrible. Do you take any notes or no?

I don't really do...anything, actually. Haha. I tried planning it out once, and I followed it for maybe a chapter, and then I just went WOOOOO and stopped paying attention to whatever outlines and notes I had. I think the main problem is that I get really hyped to write, and I'll write a huge portion over the course of, oh, three days or so. And then I'm just burnt out until I get that urge again. Which, I guess at least it's getting done...just not right now. Soon, I bet.

All three really. But I want to make a career out of writing novels. My poems are a bit too personal for me to want to publish them.

I tried taking notes for my stories, but it overcomplicated them. I freestyle for my poetry, but for stories...... I get looked at strangely for talking to people who aren't there. I build the stories based on those conversations.
