I can only wonder what this series would be like if it were underrated and a seinen. In every single fandom on the planet, there are the less annoying sane fans and the very annoying insane fans. SnK is a great series that can be hated or loved by all that view it. Cliches will ALWAYS outdo the original regardless. I've come across the comments on this site pertaining to this show, some fans are selfish, impatient, arrogant, and picky. The last episode will come out this weekend then the manga is only monthly but just try to be patient. SnK isn't liked by everyone regardless of the hype it gets. I enjoy the series very much just like the other loving fans no matter what. Simply. Fandoms are what fandoms do.

If this series never gain this much popularity, would this thread still exist?

I couldn't have put this better myself. I really cannot believe people complain of pacing for a 25 episode season. Haven't any of you seen an episode of ANY of the big 3? Trost was what like 8 episodes and people complain that it was drawn out? Marineford/Sasuke retrieval arc was how long again?

and the thing there is... not everybody likes the "big" 3. personally, I despise them and any show like them.

"shonen" is just a demographic. it's a way to categorize anime that is meant to appeal to young males, age 10-18. it has nothing to do with that type of show. not all of them are the same. Fullmetal Alchemist was shonen, and I loved it. mirai nikki was shonen, and it was decent. broken blade, busou renkin, soul eater, freaking Gundam.. all technically shonen, but enjoyable. the difference is that shows like the "big" 3, AoT, DBZ is that those previously listed are not hollow stories with stagnant uninteresting cardboard cutouts for characters.

I absolutely despise anything overly grotesque and bloody, but somehow I managed to watch Attack on Titan despite this and I came to love it. The gross-factor is high, but is more than compensated by the characters and the feeling of wanting to know what happens next. One of the anime's strong points is the way it never quite turn out the way you might expect it to. My one problem right now is that I have no legal way to watch it. I used to live in Japan while the first 12 or so episodes were airing so I could watch it then, but now I'm back in Sweden and no legal streaming sites have it available in my region.((o(。╥ω╥。)o))

Comically it appears none of the people here can tell me in one sentence a good reason to watch beyond episode 1 yet.

That's not one sentence. And doesn't follow the "here is why you should watch it" guidelines I posted earlier. Try again =-)

Easily one of the best animes out there story wise, animation, sound, character development. Armin I use to want to drop dead, but became a fucking genius.

Again I am not asking for what you think of it. I am asking for you to summarize why I should be watching it within one sentence.

Why is it the best anime out there story wise?
Why is the animation better than everything in existance?
Why is the sound so perfect?
Why is the character development so perfect?

You don't produce anything to keep me interested still.

How about I give another example?

It's a tennis themed show which contains absolutely nothing about tennis and goes completely insane within seconds as it only has 2 minutes to get your attention. New episode in... about an hour from this posting.

Another not actually describing Attack on Titan statement. That's another hype statement which has no content description for why people should really watch it.

I'll give you another example for another anime YET AGAIN.

In a world that has lost all it's faith while being granted a single wish per person those who help the dead continue on into the afterlife are feared for being gravekeeprs.
