i upgraded to windows 8.1 a while ago and honestly i love it
it auto updates my windows apps so i dont have to click the store and see what needs upgrading
and honestly thats pretty convenient also i like the way the store is set up now with windows 8.1
it also adds the little windows icon back to your taskbar like in the older versions of windows for those people who dont know how to press the windows button lol probably added it in there for the older generation who don't know how to use the computer that well.

No complaints so far with it thou
i really love my app screen but i wish there was a windows 8 crunchy roll app

As much as I hate windows in general, Windows 7 is by far the best thing they've done.

Iv'e heard bad things from windows 8, mainly because it was focused for IOS

I hate the app interface they have going with Windows 8, I like that they added the 8.1 update, that is probably a good thing, but I hope most of it just disappeared completely -.- But with that said, Windows 8 is a much better OS which is faster and more improved than Windows 7 was...But still, that interface is a heavy blow -.-
I'm getting a new pc soon, so I'll have to go with Windows 8 I guess -.-

I absolutely hated windows 8 when I upgraded from 7, but downloading an addon called classic shell puts the start button back exactly how it was with windows 7, because 8.1's start button isn't actually a start button it just sends you back to your stupid live tiles page which i hate.. but with the addon I am able to treat windows 8 exactly like a better 7 with the same file and desktop structure and I never have to see those retarded live tiles again

My laptop came with 8 and there I updated it to 8.1 and everything on my laptop started acting weird. All my apps and games would come up with a "missing xx.DLL file" and my trackpad stopped working (granted i use a mouse but I still want everything to work.) I ended up restoring back to regular 8

I was forced to upgrade to 8.1 because of school-related and work-related requirements.

My main laptop I use for VN/Manga translation will forever stay at Win7 until its equivalent or successor arrives.

I just got my mom a new computer with Win 8.1 and I think I could get used to it pretty quickly. I did have to download something to make the start button work the way it does on Win 7. That part annoyed me a little too much.

Overall, I see no reason to upgrade but if you are getting a new computer, Win 8.1 is fine

Windows 8 is factually better than Windows 7 performance wise, and you'd be silly to argue that it isn't, the only problem Windows 8 has is the interface, and even that isn't a big problem! There is no reason not to switch to Windows 8 at this point in time.

Im using Windows 8.1 now and I don't get all the hate. I installed Classic Shell so now the start button is like in windows 7, and I set it to boot straight to desktop. For me its pretty much just a faster Windows 7 with some extra features.

I'm fine with Windows 7. It gets the job done for me just fine.
