To answer, yes, I think they are annoying.

I dislike online advertising, and I don't like TV advertising (that's why I mainly watch DVR'd / previously recorded shows). Occasionally commercials can be funny but I find them annoying when online. I've had AdBlock for basically four years now, can't stand YouTube's obnoxious VEVO background ads, nor do I like offensive pop ups on file sharing sites, or any other site for that matter. If I'm going to a site, I want to see the content offered on said site, not a damn ad.

I really don't care about the fact that I am taking ad revenue away, if I don't like them, I'm not going to look at them. There are many ads that contain malicious code as well. I remember, before I was more internet savvy, I received a lot of viruses through online advertising (also, this was when I was still using IE *facepalms*), and eventually a fake antivirus that almost crashed my machine at the time. I don't really trust ads, seeing as how they are trying to sell you things, mostly. I also don't trust online ads because of the possibility of hackers/spammers/virus writers taking advantage of, say, advertising on a site like Google, or Yahoo, or a news site, a legit site, and use their ads to infect people.

But enough about me, what do YOU think of advertisements, mainly online advertisements?

I don't like 'em.

I generally feel like commercials that try to be funny when they're advertising a very non-funny product are just a waste of time. I also hate when commercials feature testimonials that you just know are fake.

"Hello. I'm here today to talk about your bum." That commercial annoys the living hell out of me. There's no way that two random women on the street would be willing "try something out" to provide a testimonial for something that you wipe your ass with. I mean, c'mon! -_-'

I just don't like sites that are so loaded with ads that they take forever to load. I usually avoid sites like that.

Other than that, I have no problem with them. Hulu gives you the option to swap out ads you don't like. Crunchyroll lets you skip them altogether for a fee. Regular TV allows me to go to the bathroom or whatever between segments. I don't watch a lot of Youtube but most of the stuff is pretty short so I usually just see those little pop up banners at the bottom that are easy to turn off once you've read them.

I don't like adverts and I tend to ignore them, but prefer having some adverts on a website (for example youtube) rather than having to pay for it's content. However if i'm paying a subscription fee for a website and they still spam me with adverts I find it highly aggravating.

I'm fine with ads on Youtube and Twitch because they are free services and I like supporting the channel of the videos/streams. I don't mean channels like Vevo who try to copyright strike anyone else who tries uploading a video with music in it, I mean smaller gaming channels and people that do Youtube/Twitch for a living. That's the one reason I'll never get ad block.

I get annoyed by the ones that tend to play back to back.

Then there are these advertisements

I don't mind ads as long as it's not video ads. You can't really ignore those. I have adblock but...when I use it the whole video goes down with it.

Now that I've thought about it, it would depend on the ad. Some are entertaining(the Jack in the Box ones are a hoot). Others just preachy and annoying(most anti-smoking PSAs).
