This is where I tell you to watch Urotsukidôji (i.e. Legend of the Overfiend) if you have not already done so, but be advised that you need to have a strong stomach (and, if at all possible, nobody else in the house). Reading about eldritch horrors is one thing, but this is the first anime I can recall that put them into action, and it shies away from nothing.

Nope. Tentacles tend to be the indicator that it's not a great anime. ie. SAO and High School DxD

<- odd man out here
I freaking love tentacle scenes, I'm down for that. Furthermore its one of my fetishes. Also down for monster girls.

The only ones I hate are the ones where they kill the chick, not cool. (I'm squeamish when it comes to gore/blood)
[edit] also dark endings annoy me too

Nope - personally, I don't quite "get" them. I don't mind tentacle monsters per se, but they're supposed to be chopped to bits in fine RPG tradition, not given all that screen time.

if done right, it can be arousing and like-able.

i'm just being real, i'm not going to sit here and say "oooh it's so disgusting" when I really do feel aroused by anything sexual.

xD

Out of monsters I prefer monster girls over monster men, can handle lizard men but pig men gross me out, freaking hate pigs

I like the hybrid of the slime monster though

Dude I saw that like a week ago, that was some hardcore stuff, well when the monsters killed the girls I looked away, but the sex scenes are short, the best scene imo was the rape scene, enjoyed it thoroughly. Also that monster underwater thing was cool.

NO! The only thing more disgusting from japan is the insane amount of pedophile imagery in their entertainment industry like a lot of the anime on this site. They really got to stop with the sexualization of children.

Does anybody even know why tentacle-monsters feel the need to attack girls? They aren't even human, so a tentacle-thing sexual attraction to a human would be like a pig's sexual attraction to an swan.

Personally though, I feel those scenes can be good, but only in the right context. (Shows like "Is This a Zombie" go in that section) I wouldn't want a scene like that in my FMA or Madoka Magica. Just my opinion, though.

Whoa, that's a fun one. And by fun one, I mean not fun at all. Sorry, but I can't draw a parallel between Overfiend and Cthulhu. It just isn't happening. My parents rented Overfiend for me when I was younger (by accident, those were the days when all cartoons were obviously meant for kids and therefor it was a-ok to rent your kids any kind of animation). Gave me nightmares for ages.

Honestly though, I'm not against tentacle monsters. Its not my thing, but I have no immediate problem with it. If a horror mangaka (or director) successfully uses tentacles to freak me out, they did their jobs. If I remember correctly there was a scene in Uzumaki where peoples bodies started distorting into tentacle like creatures, and that was a very good scene in my opinion.
