Fanboyish - I own all 9 novels that have been translated and am currently on novel 5, and yes the dialog is just as good, if not better, than the anime. It is definitely worth the purchase.

I loved Spice and Wolf. I have never met anyone or seen a comment that someone disliked it after watching it. One theory why the sales for the dvd did so bad was it was expensive as hell . If I remember correctly they wanted nearly 40-45 bucks for each season. Nobody is really willing going to spend that much money on 12-13 episode seasons.

80 bucks for 26 episodes isn't worth it. The only way they make a season three is if they pulled an inuyasha and come back to finish it up later.

No, the ending of the novel blew so I don't want to see it blew in an anime

Lowarnce is dying of old age and tells holo to move on and find another guy even though she wanted to die with him or something like that

If Funimation had any influence on the publishers of the Spice and Wolf novels/manga, that would be fine, but they have absolutely none. US companies have no impact on what anime is or is not made in Japan.

I would love to see more seasons of Spice and Wolf, but the hopes of it happening grow dimmer each year. I just hope Yen Press keeps publishing the translated versions of the novels. (Novel 10 was just shipped by Amazon today. I should be reading it soon...)

I loved spice and wolf the second season ending was a travesty of the highest order. Its a real shame we wont see anther season for this show. It just was not that popular so making all 17 light novels would never be in the cards. I moved on to the books and there pretty good still miss the show but no point trying to keep hope alive for it. Funimation is not the studio that makes the show they just bring it over to the west so its not up to them.

I think a Season 3 would be cool. At least we have the manga and novels for now, though.

logged in just to post a comment, I gave up on the hopes of season 3 long time ago and I doubt it'll be one unless they pull a move similar to what they did to Inuyasha, it'll just end up like Ranma 1/2

This is one of the many Animes which have, you could say, fallen under the desk.

People always try to bring something new and sometimes forget the good old times but what they don't know is, that the community is not weak.

We are strong and will support them if they are going to do a Season 3!

I am shure that there are many People who wan't a Season 3 but won't out themselves because they are lazy or something like that.

The people in Japan must start to thing what the people outside of Japan would like to see as well. You are not alone Japan!

Because they don't think in that direction many good things get cancelled...

I know this is the wrong thread to cry but at this hour we are all crazy!!!

I'd love to see a 3rd season, but it seems pretty unlikely at this point, so I finally made the jump into the light novel series, and I'm enjoying it as much as I did the anime.

I sort of chuckled when I saw this thread. Spice and Wolf is one of the few shows that I openly advertise as wanting to see continued. But yeah I've also moved on to the novels since, but still a third anime season is one of the those dreams that I'd like to see fulfilled someday. Perhaps there is an unknown creator in Japan today that tomorrow might also have similar feelings towards wanting to continue the anime. As long as quality shows like Chihayafuru and Uchouten Kazoku can get made, I'll hold out hope for a future season of S&W. Lets not forget that many shows have taken long hiatuses and returned. It really all depends on whether or not a creator/studio has the will to take a chance in investing their time, money and possibly future career to a show that didn't appear to do all that well in sales in Japan. And it's unfortunate that the international/internet market is not strong/profitable enough to influence certain shows being completed anymore. Big O comes to mind, regarding a show that did have some success at getting completed due to fan influences. However, it's cartoon network success certainly was a huge catalyst. And at this point I doubt a show like Spice and Wolf will suddenly be purchased by cartoon network and raise enough interest back in Japan for there to be any push to get it made. The FUNimation petition? I agree with others about that probably not going to be enough to influence a major studio in Japan to risk creating a third season unless the petition went above and beyond and people started petitioning actual creators and studios in Japan to at least attempt a fan sponsored approach as Production I.G. recently did with Yuasa's Kick-Heart anime. I'll also point out that while Kick-Heart successfully funded it's base goal, it did not gain enough funds to warrant a feature length film. So you could imagine the difficultly with this approach in creating a 6 episode Ova or a Half season 13 episode series. But I'm not against the idea of the business model. Let the fans decide with their wallets by the pre-order approach. You will not be charged until enough pre-orders warrant the effort to create it. Would this be an effective approach for a series like Spice and Wolf? Who knows, but I'm certainly for idea of encouraging Takahashi, Takeo to continue approaching producers to finish some of the source material from the novels. However, As others have mentioned already it's been a while, so he most likely already approached many other major studios and has been turned down due to lack of sale incentive.
