Welcome to the group!
I started this group as I often see forums asking if anime is bad, I also see posts on Facebook from my lil buddy(step son) defending anime and I wonder if he is being harassed or type cast because he watches anime. Then I find a forum under premium members asking what is the max age one should watch anime? What the heck!!! MAX AGE?
What is the max age one should watch anything? Football? Movies? Theater?
What a lot of people don't realize is that anime is not cartoons, they are stories and like any other media they have a broad diversity of target ages, story concepts, cinematic directions, art style. Some are movies, some are direct to video releases(oav/ova). Some is broadcast television programming, some are theatrical releases. Some of it is every bit as merchandising oriented as is Star Wars, while others are for cinematic art.
So welcome to the group and let us get some discussion going, talk about the diversity of anime and provide support to those of us who are fans and will be forever.
Here's an example of proving the depth and diversity of Anime: Challenge, Show someone the movie "Grave of the Fireflies" and see if they are moved.
Here's an example of that gives Otaku's a bad name: The average foul mouthed Narutard from back in the days of Dattebayo.
Okay there's two topic's.
