Nope, just looking to better myself that's all. A great resource though on training and nutrition is http://www.coreperformance.com/knowledge/. This site is run by the same group that runs the Athlete's Performance Institute and these tips are frequently put into action by pro athletes. They do have some customized programs that you can pay for but that is unnecessary as there is plenty of free information to go around.

Just keep in mind that half of it is mental. Don't get down on yourself and even little things such as the way you dress yourself can affect your psyche.

Oh! Thank you very much. I will look into it.

Eh... I'm actually trying to come out of a depression right now, I've been completely bummed lately and lost all of my motivation to workout or do anything, really. My first step to getting out was applying (and getting accepted into University), now I just need to work on everything else. Lol.

I tried getting some activity at a few local gyms, but I just can't keep going. I went usually for swimming.

Since I learned and practiced swimming in Olympic-sized pools, I was really not used to the gym pools with their cloudy chemical-laden water. I didn't wear goggles once and I was nearly blind for a day. There were also plenty of weird people who'd get in the pool but just stand around and watch you swim. I didn't like that.

I also went a couple of times for some of the machines. That's when I discovered that my problem isn't really motivation, it is that I can't stand being around people when I work out (unless I'm at the dojo...then I actually like people because I love sparring).

Getting some activity with reasonable regularity really isn't that difficult. You only need to not overindulge in food every day and get up and running maybe 2-3 times a week (for at least 30 minutes) to stay somewhat fit. If you're looking to get big fast, then a gym is unavoidable unless you invest in some gear to use at home. If you're looking to just stay fit, you really just need a pullup bar, good pushup form, and the willpower to run around the block 2-3 times a week and not eat hot dogs and burgers every day.

lol I also went to USSD a few years back. I stopped during brown belt when I got into college and just trained at college. My instructor used to blast us with day-long belt tests and it was hard (people cry and throw up) but you felt so accomplished in the end. That training dummy brings back fond memories.

Personally I enjoy competing. Just going to the gym for the sake of looking good was boring to me after college (in college I played lacrosse and the gym was a way to help improve my on-field performance) so eventually I got into powerlifting and have been doing it ever since. Ramping up for another meet now.

My motivation when I exercise is loud hardcore metal. Especially when I'm lifting big weight or when Im going to run long or fast.
It also helps when I'm in a lot of pain. (like in very very cold Ice baths)

When I lift, I listen to Queen, and Hatsune Miku, and sandstorm- specifically that song.

Nowadays I don't work out very hard. I just try to get physical and do something fun.

I really enjoyed boxing during high school. So I like to practice my strikes sometimes. Gets too serious most of the time, so I start messing around. Sometimes I'll play imagination games like children do. I pretend I'm in a video game like FFX, and then I pretend I'm a new character in the game. I have my own weapons, strikes, and special moves. Some times I'll even just copy moves from games. Like Monster Hunter, I pretend I'm a hunter and have an invisible great sword. I move my body the way my video game character would move. So much fun.

Oh yeah, I'm the guy you use to see all the time years ago. I'm the guy that puts his hand into the form of a gun and pretends to shoot stuff/blow stuff up. I do this in public too, not just the gym.

Haha honestly as superficial as it may sound my motivation is to just keep looking better, mostly for the people I graduated with. Im currently a college freshmen and during the summer I got tired of being skinny so I started to hit the gym alot to try and look bigger. I had a good friend who came with me as a workout partner and and invested in some pre workout (magic dust in a jar. no seriously, get some) and by the end of the summer people were asking me if I used steroids x3

Now of course I didnt, I just used pre workouts and some protein shakes and what not, nothing to serious. But my schedule was going five days a week for at minimum an hour and a half, usually two hours. In late may when I started I weighed in at about 159 pounds. That doesnt sound like a bad weight except I'm 6'3...sooo I was pretty skinny. In August before I was leaving for college I weighed in at about 175. Everyone I knew would see me and start staring at my transformation, and it was only about 16 pounds! Granted it was muscle and I was a pretty skinny dude before so it was really noticeable, but still it felt so good. Im currently weighing in at about 182 since my progress has slowed just a little since college does keep me busy. I still go to the gym the same amount but its pretty hard to bulk on muscle sometimes with classes keeping me from cooking the large meals I need to eat. Anyways, to answer the question my current motivation is not just looking good for people I dont know or have yet to meet, but to come back to my hometown during christmas break this year and really shock them with how much bigger and more muscular I've gotten.

Sorry for the long post I usually dont go around posting about this stuff since I realize it can be taken as a douchey thing to do. BUT, for anyone lacking motivation. I have two pieces of advice.

1) Think about how great it would be for everyone you know to start staring at how good you start looking after getting in shape. It really does happen.
2) Get some pre-workout. Not even kidding..like you have to workout after taking it. Doesnt leave much room to not be motivated xD

I have been doing T25 from Shaun T he guy who made insanity. It has been great so far in case any one else is like me and prefers to workout at home first thing in the morning. If I don't do it first thing in the morning I generally lose my motivation. But a lot of anime are great motivation to workout. The girls always look amazing, and a lot of the time I want to dress cute like they do. I don't want to get into a show think "ooh that outfit is super cute" and then feel bad that I'm too fat to look cute in it. Nope I rather workout feel good about myself and be able to dress in the cute stuff that I like.

I have a few of her songs in my playlist, most remixed, along with some AKB48 remixed by DJ Amaya and a few OP/EDs. Anything with a good rhythm or good build up works well for me. I don't see any good reason not to mix some anime culture in the workout ... anything to make it more enjoyable.
