Maybe like Greenlight but Crunchyroll style.

Crunchyrolled perhaps? Crunchyroll puts up listings for upcoming seasons, fans get to vote for as many shows as they want and then CR is able to gauge based on the vote numbers what is highest in demand for viewing.

Features for voting would include:
Numbering shows in terms of hype/interest level (Scale of one to five stars)
Familiarity with project/studio/director/etc
Desire for translated CM's and PV's
Genre familiarity

There's a lot that can be done on this site for focusing in more on the consumer base and what it wants. It'll help them with knowing what's in highest demand. Honestly, I just wanna see more features integrated into the site. Stuff like group/friend viewings seemed to get dropped pretty quickly and there's almost next to nothing on the site concerning filtering of good user reviews and whatnot. Half of the time reviews are nonsensical verbal vomitings about a show that barely differ from youtube comments and more often than not those get pushed to the top while legitimate reviews or first impressions for the show fall straight to the bottom.

All of that aside, I really want to take this time to say that everyone here should really check out promotional videos for Arpeggio of Blue Steel ~Ars Nova~ because it's seriously NOT getting enough steam behind its hype train and it looks to be one of the most amazing sci-fi action series this fall. Crossing my fingers CR will pick it up.

I know that Crunchyroll has the "Like" system of "Stars" that people vote on...but Crunchyroll does not seem to utilize it to base their future bids on licences...that all may be subjective anyhow...as everyone will always vote on their favorites. If they had a negative system of votes that may give them a better idea on a more realist ratio.

I know Crunchyroll does not want popularity to start artificially raise the cost of a licence for a show...sooo, there should be some sort of "Quite" auction of bids for a show...to give Crunchyroll a better idea of fan based desires...Then announce the winning Anime as a "Bid Share" on the wish list after the Licence has been granted.

Just an idea that Crunchyroll should at least look at...

Except Crunchyroll is not like DVD/BD distributors ~ Crunchyroll tries to get everything, so being at the top or bottom of the list wouldn't change anything. Crunchyroll would still try to get everything on the list.

I have heard this before, maybe it was from you, maybe I complained last time too!

There are tons of Anime...Crunchyroll is a licencing site now, and I'm sure they try and get everything, and I will concede that there is some Anime that is too "Mature" and not available in every market...

But I'm sure you understand, just like Cruchyroll does, that they are not the only "Big Box Store" out there...If they had a way to "Insure" fans got want they wanted it might help their bottom line and be the "Go to first" site they want to be...

That's all...I still enjoy what Cruchyroll brings to the table...or I would not be a paid member...

That's possible, since I have seen people make comments that assume Crunchyroll "picks" series like a home video distributor does for over five years now.

They try to get everything that is broadcast in Japan.

But I'm sure you understand, just like Cruchyroll does, that they are not the only "Big Box Store" out there ...

They aren't a "Big Box Store" at all ~ they are a small company specializing in the streaming sub-niche of a niche market. They don't have the financial clout of home video distributors, so they have to find ways to work with home video distributors to avoid being locked out of the most popular series.

If they had a way to "Insure" fans got want they wanted it might help their bottom line and be the "Go to first" site they want to be...

Yes, if ifs and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

They are making progress, otherwise they would not have their membership growing at such a rapid pace, but they are not yet there yet.

Its still the case that "we'd really like you to get anime X" won't change how likely they are going to get "anime X". They are aiming to get everything broadcast in Japan. They are getting all they can, based on the royalties they can pay and the strategies of the Japanese and international licensors they are negotiating with.

The thing that will increase the number of licenses is if the number of subscribers keeps growing. That will increase royalty revenue available to the licensees for granting a license to Crunchyroll.

I'm so happy about Meganebu!
What I'm really looking forward to this season, same with Samurai Flamenco, but that was already announced.

We're also excited to announce Galilei Donna, launching on Thursday, October 10, at 11:00am Pacific Time, available to members in U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Central and South America including Caribbean, Europe (including Scandinavia and French-speaking and German-speaking territories).

The link up there is missing "d" in url so it links to 404.

And is Europe "(including Scandinavia and French-speaking and German-speaking territories)" means that only these territories are included? It's RR for me, that's why i'm asking. I hope it's just a case of not finished settings of IP addresses.

Bottom Biting Bug also shows "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region."
Edit. Or wait, the RR info for BBB is because season 1 is not available.

I want Golden Time...

Freezing for 99% won't be here but for different reason. CR have shows like Queens Blade already so boobs are not a problem. Well censorship on last one was fail, even if it was not CR fault...

Oh, wow. Great line up.

Pity none of the shows I was planning on watching are being streamed in Australia.

A real pity, that is...
