Just went to B&N today, picked up Vol. 4 and 5. Still a far cry away from being caught up, but I am fine reading at the pace of print releases here in the states.

After reading chapter 232 I would be ashamed to not bump this forum back to the top as Magi may in fact be the greatest shounen manga I've ever read.

Chap 232 has just revealed one of the most if not THE MOST GENIUS PLOT TWIST in the history of manga. It was so unexpected and yet at the same time makes complete sense only because of everything that has preceded this chapter.

Below I will explain the plot twist for those who may have read it but still don't understand whats going on. Magi can be a tough read for some as it can be VERY dialogue and unclear at times. But for everyone who has yet to read it I encourage you to add it to you MUST READ list. At first it can seem like your normal shounen ad I think the mangaka did that deliberately in order to make an easier sell to people. But don't let that fool you because this manga is extremely deep and if you take it lightly you will get lost before even realizing it.

MASSIVE HUGE SPOILER AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT READ MAGI UP TO THIS POINT PLEASE READ IT!

OK? ok...SO!

AND THATS IT! Thats basically what just happened for those of you a little confused by the current chapter. As for those of you who haven't read the manga yet. Please do, this mangaka is a literary genius, at least in the manga world. You will not regret picking this one up I ASSURE YOU!

emmmm Yes and no :/

I'm not saying the plots aren't similar, and really I bet you could go back many years and find a book, movie or game that does another similar story but There are more than enough differences here to call it unique.

I know. And, regardless if it was the same, doesn't stop this chapter from being epic.

i just dropped this after following since... idk, since close to the end of the first season of the anime. so a year or two. i'm lost in this flashback (flashbacks shouldn't go on an on), & the whole megaadsfadsf magic school thing was too much too. i think it's the long arcs.... i'm reading a few long-running manga but their arcs don't go on forever and ever.

idk. it's too bad because i thoroughly enjoyed the rest of it, and the art is very beautiful. oh well.

Thank you so much for that cause, these latest chapters in Magi lost my interest, and I've been just skimming over each one. Then you come and explain it to me. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!

And thus Aladdin was born...

Solomon's words will not be forgotten and it seems like he entrusted Ugo with creating a world anew. This has been quite a flashback so far tbh and although it seemed a bit rushed in the latter half is still welcoming. The world building of Magi never ceases to amaze me.

The Manga is still crazy right now! Gyokuen and the parents of Aladdin have all been pretty much confirmed.

I'm the same right now I finished volume 5, and just waiting for the next printed. Seeing everyone's reaction though to the current chapters has me really excited though!

They are up to 7 now in Print.

I have 6 and 7, but they are just at the bottom of my To Read list right now.

I believe 6 came out shortly after my original post.

7 came out... 2 weeks ago? I believe.

Roughly for American releases its close to every 3 months. This can be longer depending on the series... but I have not seen it be shorter than that.
