Japanese people catch colds very easily, and they are near-lethal to them at times. This is also why they wear surgical masks in public.

Apparently because they were always such clean people, they never really got sick. Because of this, they never developed anti-bodies as generations passed. Once we moved into modern society with highly dense cities and population increase, they were exposed to the bacteria that they never developed resistance to. So they get sick very easily. So finally, to answer your question, anime characters get sick very often because they're Japanese.

I learned from Kiss x Sis that if you're sick you will get healthy over night if your twin sisters lick your body.

If you get rained on, you have to take a bath or you will catch a cold. And I always thought it was a virus.

Its a easy and believable plot point, which requires no setup. Can't fault the writers for using it often.

Thank you, I thought I was the only one. "Don't go to the supermarket, you'll get a cold." Apparently a cold is the bubonic plague of the anime world. If you don't eat your soup right, you'll get a really bad fever, have nightmares, and possibly die. But don't worry, a cool wet rag is the cure all, from your basic allergies to stage 4 cancer.

Sometimes, the person who comes to visit the sick person meets with their , like , sister(s) / brother(s) or sometimes even a person who lies that they're the boyfriend or girlfriend. It's overused

So your saying I have my European ancestors ,that rarely bathed, to thank for not having to depend on a wet rag to save me from a crippling could then? Alright then, for the sake of future generations I will only bathe once a month!

When they say "What doesn't kill only makes you stronger." they're not just pulling something out of their backside.

It's the sort of thing that makes me happy about my upbringing. A lot of us in our family do or have done really dirty jobs most our lives. Even as a kid I got introduced early on to a lot of bad stuff, and I'd get sick or hurt a lot. But because of that, I can feel easy that I'd only get sick a couple times a year when I end up catching something really bad. And even then, it's not something that keeps me stuck in bed or hanging over the toilet all day.

But hey sometimes it's bad enough that even the washrag won't do them any good. Sometimes you gotta bring out the big guns and make porridge! That's when you know it's serious.

Exactly, you got it. But please, bathe more than once a month.
