Luck Star. Even though I love the show, it has nothing to do with stars, or being lucky.

Cool shows but I still don't know what their titles mean.

durarara is the phonetic sound japanese say a motorbike makes (similar to 'vroom' for us or using 'boom' to describe the sound a blast makes)

Mushibugyo is just 2 words stuck together mushi meaning bug, insect or generally small critter (im pretty sure) and bugyo who is someone who holds a particular office, like a governor or magistrate etc. So insect magistrate is the given translation.

Samurai champloo, only time I've ever herd someone use champloo is when I had a dish called a champloo which was a kinda mush of tofu, meat and vegetables. Tasty but maybe not looking so appetising

Oohhhh... Thanks man. (DRRR one made me chuckle).

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, I mean, did anyone actually know what Verdurous meant before looking it up?

One has to wonder a bit.

As for titles, it was never explained why Bubblegum Crisis is called Bubblegum Crisis.

You know what has a weird title? Eureka 7. Could anybody explain that to me? Whats with the 7? I know who Eureka is...and well.....7? I mean if it was Eureka 2 or 3 I might get it.

Rainbows and the Seven Swell Effect.

It's also a reference to Celty Sturlson, the Dulahan ("dula" and "dura" are spelled the same in Japanese).

Yes, for the most part; doesn't mean I'd seen it used much before.

The original creator has been asked the question in interviews, but his answer was something along the lines of "When you blow a bubble with gum and it explodes, the more you try to remove the gum from your face, the worse the problem becomes," which makes sense once we learn more about Boomers in Tokyo 2040.

One could argue for "Soul Eater". If you've never seen the characters or knew there was comedy in it, you'd probably think it's a horror anime. And also "Demon King Daimao" gave no indication that it was full of ecchi. I felt so mislead...

Pani Poni Dash.
I mean, what is a Pani, what makes it Poni, and how does it Dash? That title makes almost no sense to me- just like the show itself. Hmm... PaniPoni Dash... PaniPoniDash... Pani PoniDash... Pa ni Po ni Dash... Pani-Poni Dash...
It still doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Puella Magi * Madoka Magica is also a questionable title- in another way. I don't know how many people knew what it was about based on just the title alone- I know I for one didn't. Madoka Magica- isn't that the moe-moe magical girls show? NO! Maybe if the title had been a bit more... detailed? I would not have gotten the magnitude of shock I experienced...

Gintama. No one has mentioned that yet? One might as well call a show chinbou.
