Episode 1
Magnificent animation which I expected from GoHands.

All the girls seem pretty interesting so far.

Ibara doesn't listen to the Vice Principle and saves that one guy.Cure-all drug Aether, huh?

All the girls are Coppelion, human with high resistance to radiation through genetic engineering.

Scary ass doll.

Taeko's love for animals is embedded in her DNA.She was born with senses as sharp as animals. That's one of the three girl's abilities.

Goddamnit censoring *sigh*

Wolf attack!!!

Can already tell the fighting scenes are going to look so epic with such great animation.

ED started kind of slow at first but was actually pretty good.

Looking forward for episode 2,based on the pv it seems it'll explain Aoi's background.Have high hopes for this so hopefully it'll deliver.Gonna start reading the manga now too.

Based on this episode I'd say Ibara is my favorite girl,Aoi is 2nd and Taeko is 3rd.

I can say the animation is awesome , art is nice but I dont like the camera motion , its making me think someone is watching them .

Its an interesting first episode but I am curious if the main plot is all about what they are and their search for live human among the ruin. It feels slow pace for the most part since its somewhat melodramatic.I hope the adaptation show how these girls became what they are and there is character development or else I would lose interest.

I know this is based on the manga of 26 volumes but I dont like the character design specifically their clothing . It doesnt make sense..

As for the seiyuu.

Haruka Tomatsu as Ibara Naruse

Kana Hanazawa as Aoi Fukasaku

Satomi Akesaka as Taeko Nomu
ra

Hanazawa has a wimpy character that is actually annoying me a bit. Tomatsu was Shizuku in My Little Monster. Her character is strong.

I will probably wait for Viz to finish stearming all 12 episode and then watch it becuase I have a feeling I might loose interest along the way. .

I can change the size, font, and color. That makes it almost good enough, but the timing is still the worst thing. I don't like it when the subs only show up half a second after they start talking. What stopping them from putting the subs right when they start talking, like CR does so well?

I think this was a Hulu problem. I had to jump ahead and rewing back at one point because the picture froze while the audio continued to play.

No, it's a Viz problem, because Blood Lad did the same thing, but none of the Funimation shows I watched on Hulu ever did that.

I'm pretty sure that the stuff Funimation puts on Hulu is hardsubbed. There's nothing that has to sync between the video and the closed captioning.

Nice episode. It looks like it could be pretty interesting. I can't wait to see the direction that this goes.
The art is nice, I quite like the color scheme and that slight blue/green tinge in some shots. only thing that bugs me is the GIANT OUTLINES. they're not consistent, and they make the characters seem kind of.. pasted onto the background when they do appear.
The ED was good, the song was pretty interesting. Can't wait to see the OP next week.

Very strong first episode, in my opinion. It has me thoroughly interested. I'm wary of making judgments based solely on the first episode, but so far, my expectations are somewhat high for this series. Can't wait to see more.

I love the way they portrayed the overgrowth and decay. It all felt very real - like images of Chernobyl.

However I really want to call attention to the music, or rather the strategic lack thereof at certain parts. I think it was very clever of them to use music to convey certain sensations (like suspense) but just keep the sound eerily quiet when they're just walking through the ghost town.

"Hey man, we're going to genetically modify some girls so they can survive the radiation and be our eyes on the ground at the disaster area!"

"Why not use robots, I heard that'd be easier than genetic modification."

"That doesn't make any sense! Also, we should probably have them start working when they're old enough for high school! That way they can wear high school uniforms while searching for survivors!"

"Dude, this is starting to sound like some kind of fetish of yours."

"But high school girls are perfect for creating unnecessary drama! They'll be naive, stupid at times, and willing to do whatever we adults say!"

"Uhhh, what the hell is this? Some kind of anime?"

Very nice animation and also from an artistic viewpoint worth the watch.
The whole atmosphere of "the world largest ghost-town" is odd and suits the setting.. just a bigger version of Prypjat.

I will stay with that and wait for more development in the story. Seems promissing.

Anime Rule number whatever. The fate of Japa... NO the WORLD rests in the hands of Japanese High Schoolers

Oh and I'm definitely coming back for another episode.

I don't know... compared to K, the animation is somewhat similar(obviously) but the characters do look just pasted on the background, so that was kind of a disappointment. I love the color scheme(again, very K-like), unfortunately, nothing about that first episode hooked me in any way. It was bland and the episode didn't seem to go anywhere imo. I will of course give it at least two more eps before making a decision to drop it or continue watching.

Ugh, those yellow subs were grating, at best.

They got me good, though. I'm in. Compelling story, and we haven't even scratched the surface of what this mess is all about.

Anyone else noticed that the character outlines were really thick at times? Not really a big deal, and I'm sure I'll get used to them, but they just stood out a lot to me. Don't remember K looking the same way, although the similarities in animation are obvious.

And that ED song was chilling (loved Angela's OP for K, and this ED was good stuff, too).

Attack on Titan did something similar with the dark outlines. I, for one, personally love this animation style, it kinda reminds me of cell-shading in animation/video games and I LOVE cell-shading.

the animation itself is pretty cool, the problem imo is that when the outlines are drawn so thick, it makes it look like that's the characters are the only part that have been truly animated and the rest is just CG. It makes it look very amateurish. This was not the case with K, but I don't know. It makes it feel like you're just watching actors work in front of a green screen, It just takes authenticity away from the anime as a whole.
just my 2 cents.

Absolutely stellar backgrounds. I'm a bit disappointed with the character animations given everything else is so beautifully done, but I can live with it. The pacing of the first ep was a bit slow, but it worked for establishing the world. It looks like things will pick up in the next episode.

This was one of the ones I was really looking forward to, so I'm glad it's good so far.
