Looks great so far. Contrary to what I've heard, I actually really loved the slow pace they're starting off with. I think it gives you time to really absorb the setting. Also, the lack of background music really helped to set a cool tone for the rest of the series.

The only thing I can't stand is that I have to watch this thing on freaking Hulu. I have to refresh the page over and over just so I can get all the ads to play in the beginning instead of interrupting the episode.

Animation is gorgeous as everyone else said, and I like it so far..although it does need to pick up the pace. I want action!

It's okay. I'll watch a few more episodes to see where this go.

Though I couldn't help myself going 'Hey is this supposed to be where K was set?' and that MC looks like the lovechild of Black Dog and Neko.

The second episode was pretty good. I wonder how many of those totally whacked out criminals that escaped are going to cause them trouble while the try to save the innocent people. I also get the feeling that they are going to run into some people who are mutated which ought to be pretty interesting. finally I was wondering if anybody else noticed the swastikas on the map at about 5:36? Im interested to see what those mark on the map!

Episode 2

I like the OP song tbh and seems like there's going to be some antagonists in this show that will challenge against the Coppelion unit.

I feel sorry for Miku's family though with their current situation. They were able to save her though so I'm happy about that. Oh and Aoi is a cool girl. I did expect a bit more action so looking forward to some of that in the future episodes..

Oh, I did like the little story in the beginning btw.

Not gonna lie, I wasn't nearly as impressed as with second episode as I was with the first. It felt so rushed. The most annoying thing was that characters would start crying at the drop of a hat. At some points it just felt melodramatic.

Unfortunately I have to agree. This episode was enjoyable and had interesting ideas, but the drama was a little too overwrought for my tastes.
Hopefully the rest of the series will be better presented.

Episode Two

Ibara's reaction to the purpose of her life was too dramatic for me as well, and usually I let that stuff go but it's actually kindof hard to grasp her character in general. I have a good feeling that I know Aoi and Taeko(told ya Taeko wasn't dead!) but Ibara is this and that and never just this or never just that. one point she's cold, stern and straightforward and then we have her breaking down so quickly at the challenge of her existence. then again, while I type this I wonder if the emotions are so heightened in this show because death waits for you around every corner. Ibara knew that building was unstable and was slowly collapsing while they were in dialogue, you know? maybe being a doll and knowing one mission all your life can screw w/your emotions? who knows.

I feel bad for the dog/wolf? following them. he/she's not as strong or capable as the Coppelion Unit which leads me to believe that he/she is in the most danger. that wolf is pretty majestic looking. I like having it around I just don't want to see it go.

the opening and ending songs are pretty damn awesome, me thinks! ^.^

Kana Hanazawa sure is busy this season. after reading Wikipedia's list of her current voice acting gigs I made a mental note to pick out her voice inflections that I love so much. Aoi is adorable, I think HanaKana is just billed for adorable characters!

Whoa.Whoa.Whoa. Ok lemme say some things i like first...
That ED is so freaking godlike!!! I mean i thought that last week, but for these past couple of days i kept trying to remember which new anime it was from...
This episode was a lot better than the first imo.
Stfu Aoi! Lol now i understand why she is like that, and i can understand.
It emotions at certain parts were also understandable.
Now..,
The way they conveyed the parents actions were terrible. First they are desperately for their child, then they are so willing to die.
Not so much the mother but the father was overkill, especially since they could have saved him.
It seems very over dramatic and that irritates me, especially from the cast.
The Sunday Without God vibe is strong in this...not as bad tho.

Another one on the chopping block but i give it a pass because im interested to see more and the soundtrack is excellent.

So let me say this everybody should know this is about disaster, finding those still alive and rescue if possible. It's not meant to be fluffy ans nice

BTW Acute radiation syndrome is not pretty.

They are still HS girls and this the first time in the field so emotions will get tested.

Psychology can affect human reasoning as in Miku's father and stepmom!

I wasn't bothered so much by the Father because, Jerry is right, that shit aint pretty and it would make the kid happy to see her Father again but at the same time, she'll always live w/that memory of him and how he looked. in the Father's eyes he must of seemed pretty pathetic. so, it's for the benefit of the child for her to just continue forward. plus, who knows if the Father would have lived very long after being saved, and or what kind of ailments he would have. the "Auntie" though, that bitch was just stupid but I can see that being a very common human thing to do in her situation.

it all seemed pretty real in terms of real life given that you put yourself in those situations. at the same time, it does seem a tad bit rushed and now I understand why someone earlier in this thread said it seemed rushed...maybe because it's only billed for 13 episodes? I think an anime like this one and others of the like should be or have been 2 arcs -- 20-28 episodes.

OMFG!
