Pretty good start...the main character reminds me of Issei from DxD. They're both annoying lol
The way the characters looked kinda made me cringe but towards the end i adjusted so its whatever.
Seems like a cute anime to watch.

Going in I was really looking forward to this from the synopsis, but after watching the episode I didn't like it. Story is very mediocre, characters are not interesting and the animation looks rushed and lazy. I'll properly drop this after the next episode.

Mmmmm... Not sure if want. I'll give it a couple more tries.

It was a pretty decent episode, but this show might get pushed to the side as the worst show of an amazing season >_>

ep 1

I liked it, Myucel and the empress are really cute with their actions
and it really does seem to be a pretty interesting concept
Shinichi is hilarious

I think I will like this one. The setting reminds me of "Gate-Thus the JSDF Fought There"; hope would see it is animated someday.

I saw someone else mention this before too on another board. Just curious, what were the similarities?

It is about parallel worlds; one with modern tech and one in medieval age with magic. The theme of "Gate" is about interactions between 2 worlds, cultural exchanges and politics; it is darker than Outbreak Company. The MC is also an otaku.

JSDF is more political but has the same plot. Gate to fantasy world appears in Japan, diplomacy ensues.

Basically the other side came through first and invaded Japan with an army of Knights and monsters. JSDF fights them off and then goes through the gate themselves and sets up a base around it. Starts scouting, interacting with locals, etc.....

Main Character of JSDF is self proclaimed Otaku and proud of it, pretty thrilled to be in a world with elves and animal people. Difference from Outbreak is he's a full adult leading a squad of soldiers. The "Men in Green" quickly get a reputation amongst the locals. They are kind, generous and extremely strong. They protect the helpless against dragons bandits and the forces of the strongest armies in the world are helpless against them. Then they start trade with the locals selling fabrics, tools, jewelry, etc...

Meanwhile Earthside you get the International politics. The Gate is on Japanese soil, but pretty much every nation on earth wants access to it for different reasons (except Russia who want it closed because they fear open trade with the other world could damage their own Resource trade), and you've got typical conflict on the local level where the opposition party is trying to make the current government look like brutal expansionists exploiting and abusing the poor primitive people on the other side of the gate.

If this doesn't flop commercially I believe we will see GATE in animated form sooner than expected.. But since it's been rewritten, I can't tell the future of it.
I'm basing this one the Hataraku Maou-Sama / Yushibu relation.

Not too shabby.

Animation is typical, nothing special.

Interesting concept , got some funny moments of his utakoness.

but the name Myucel. Why in the world did the writer came up with that name... Good grief !! it sounded like a medication for colds and cough and flu .

I was really skeptic to the whole "sharp face" animation style, but it seemed to work really well with the story. Interesting first episode, oh and i laughed so much when main character suddenly talked like an old woman.

This seems to have the weakest animation of the different shows I have tried so far this season (because that is a strong field, I have to admit), but the concept is intriguing, and it looks like our main character is a potentially decent guy. ... Well, he does let his otaku-ness slip, but at least he's not going straight to playing grab-ass or something.

I'll keep watching. I'd like to see where this goes. So far, I'm getting a bit of that warm-and-fuzzy El Hazard feeling, and that's not a bad thing.
