It seems like people are just listing video games, tv shows, and anime they don't like

^ Not everyone, and some actually explain why the fandom is annoying. I listed things that I love, but the fandoms drive me up the walls at times.

I'm a Hetalia fan and I can agree with you on that. The series would be better if the history were more accurate than what it was. The shipping wars is just bat shit insane(GerIta, UsUk, Fruk, Iggypan, Ameripan, and etc). Hetalia could be a more serious and breathtaking anime series but it isn't. Yaoi pairings are everyone you look which is irritating and somewhat rude to me. Realistically, your countries aren't full of homosexuals whether you "know" this or not. Its understandable that making fun of horrifying tragedies can make some people upset. They also make jokes at stereotypes both negative and positive as well. Some of the Hetalia fangirls are arrogant, immature, rude, insane, and vicious towards others. Hetalia fanboys are so rare among the fandom too......maybe the fangirls are to blame. I still love the show, even though fandom has its crazies I will be honest about it.

Team Fortress 2: Primarily they complain on the Steam message boards about hats, lack of hats, fixes Valve shouldve implemented a long time ago, balancing. updates, something related to the Mann Co. Store, etc. Don't say a single word about TF2 and you won't even know they're a fan.

I don't understand why anyone plays that game anymore. On top of the psychotic fanbase, the game itself has devolved into a bizarre, scammy economy based on hats and crate-gambling. There's probably a connection between those things...

Apple fanatics can be pretty creepy, too. Yeah, Apple products are slightly more reliable...because they aggressively restrict developers and users, and treat the latter like imbeciles. Their PCs are designed like game consoles and priced like BMWs, iPods only play a specific proprietary type of MP3 file, and what do you even do with an iPad? But you sure won't hear the fanboys complaining...about anything. Ever. Except Windows, of course.

I still play TF2 but I only go on the smaller close-knit community servers because I'm tired of all this premium crap where by donating they get like a bajillion things and stuff that breaks the already fragile weapon balance in game that many servers provide. Oh and that those that use that stupid Pinion ad system. I know servers cost money, but can't they find a better way to make money and not piss off players at the same time?

I get in the most confrontations with the Evangelian fanbase and most of Joss Whedon's camp. They simply treat him like some kind of whimsical master writer when he's maybe only slightly above average. My feed lit up with Agents of Shield hype and I had to bail.

Concerning the Eva fanbase I'm wondering why it's even still an issue. I for a while had trouble considering Eva a seinen anime because in many aspects it doesn't feel quite at the maturity level as something like Monster or more of the Avant Guarde Serial Experiments Lain and other stuff I watch, yet a lot of these people insist that it's on par with William Faulkner or something. It kind of has that "first good anime" vibe to it, which I first off think is a phrase that needs to be dropped. Entertainment is entertainment. Doesn't matter if it's Ulysses or Spongebob freaking Squarepants. Elitism doesn't really help anybody.

The AoT fanbase is becoming kind of reprehensible but it just finished I think it may die down sooner or later. To express a sort of opposite conundrum to all the Hetalia hate, I'm getting kind of put off by the Puella Magi Madoka Magica fanbase, as it's all seemed to deteriorate to lesbian shipping, and attacking one another because "such and such likes this character when you shouldn't like this character cause they are bad," and you know, you either like a character or you don't, and it used to be a pretty cool community. They were all talking about Free Will, and the Problem of Evil, and all this philosophical stuff that I don't see in anime discussions a lot....and then...all of a sudden it trickled down to just lesbians and waifu wars.

As far as games go, the FF fanbase is undisputed. I have so many problems with these people that it's skewed my perceptions of the games themselves. All they do is whine and complain. They can't even agree with each other on most anything, and they spend most of their time begging Square to give them the old FF games and then complain when they finally get them. I'm also tired of the FFVII D-riding train but that's.....just....me....

To be honest, I don't think you can say which group has the worst fan base, because you've got the people who are really cool and aren't all obsessed with it, and then you got the dudes who'll pretty kill you if you don't like it as much as them. But if I had to choose, I'd have to say any book fan base like Twilight or other sort of completely terrible novels.

Honestly Fairy Tail fans are pretty bad. They just seem to endlessly praise such mediocre to bad plot points like Lisanna coming back to life (and MANY more). I've even seen some call parts of the Grand Magic Games arc good when it is easily the WORST Shounen arc I have ever read in my entire life. I terms of annoyance their on pair with the Big Three fanbases but honestly what makes them so bad is that they just come off as people who are seemingly entertained by every little thing the show has to offer. I feel like I could dangle keys and distract them from a bank robbery sometimes (obvious hyperbole is obvious).

Lets not forget the Attack on Titan fans who just HAVE TO spoil everything.

Aaaand honestly I'm blanking on who else XD I'd say Pokemon but the Genwunners took a pretty brutal beating from X and Y. I'll leave that dead horse where it is .

CoD, Sao, AoT. and GTA. The SAO, AOT and GTA fanbases basically always think their show is the best thing ever, when it's not. I enjoyed Sao and Aot, but the fans can be.... "overzealous" sometimes. CoD for all the reasons stated in this thread already..... kids with the power of being anonymous and a headset with guns.

I agree with your view on Evangelian if your just talking the tv show and End of Evangelian movie I disliked those. But the newer Evangelian 1.0 and 2.0 were pretty good if not great in fact both are in my top 5 anime movie list (3.0 they back slipped and went back to the feel of the tv show)
