Got caught up with the first two episodes last night.

Watching the first episode, I was starting to expect the series to take the MC's interactions with the female characters down a comedic love triangle/harem route. Then episode 2 completely dashes that expectation while also pulling hard on the heart strings.

Poor Hokuto.

Episode 1

The main characters are Zenkichi Hitoyoshi from Medaka Box and Kushieda Minori from Toradora!?

NO ONE CAN WHISTLE WHILE EATING A SUCKER. Suspension of disbelief ruined...

Anime guys need to learn how to dodge an unwanted kiss. Literally all you have to do is move your head. In any case, I like this & the candy girl already has pissed me off enough for me to want to see her get her snobbish face ground into the dirt.

Allen Walker in the ED animation?

CG animation didn't bother me. Not as jarring in between like it is in Arpeggio of Blue Steel.

Overall, I liked this quite a lot. I think I'll pick it up for real.

Episode 2

I'm impressed so far. Solid work on the emotional side of things, and I really like some of the writing, especially Harutora's reaction to becoming a spirit seer.

Now that I have this, I am feeling more like I can drop Coppelion without regrets.

Just watched the first ep, this is pretty awesome! I like the mixing of old-school magic into a magi-tech like setting. The character designs are pretty nice too.

Natsume is pretty adorable.

Yea i read the first chapter or two of the manga so i knew how the start was going to be that's why I'm avoiding this one until i see how it ends. I don't like anime that kill off characters at the end. At least this one didn't drag you along the whole story just to kill them, although its not over yet and i only read a few chapters to not destroy the show for me just in case it ends up being good.

Loved the ending part when he was made into a spirit seer, that was kinda kinky and sweet all at the same time. xD

Really enjoying this show.

Bakatora indeed! I sure hope he isn't clueless for too much longer as I always love seeing actual romance play out and this definitely has the potential for it. At least he has realized that the girl he though he loved wasn't real, hopefully he'll pick up on some of the hints and figure out she is right there in front of him... but as it is an ongoing novel series I am prepared for him to be dense for the entire season, sigh...

Otherwise I just wish the 3D CGI demon mecha weren't so freaking obviously 3D CGI... because without that I could totally love this show. As it is I will really enjoy it but I sure hate that 3D CGI. Did I mention the 3D CGI???

Well, this is rocketing to the top of my favorites for this season. What a fun episode. Action, humor, romance. Bakatora indeed. Everybody can see the obvious, but him. Hopefully he'll make some progress. :D

I agree with Hpulley about the cgi... I find it way more jarring in this series than I do in Blue Steel.

I find it jarring in both, but more so in Blue Steel for me.

Great series so far, apart from the CGI.

Pandito: The only thing I didnt like about Blue Steels cgi was the "dead fish" expressions of the characters... its like the spent all their budget on the ships. lol What was jarring about it to you?

The twist at the end of ep 3 was nicely pulled off, I really liked it. <3, though I got a hint during the battle, and the end I was like: "Oh... Ooooooooohhh!" lol
