If Hokuta was autonomous I think I am going to hate this. Actually, if she was anything less than fully controlled by Natsume (i.e. Natsume in a different body), I am going to hate this.

...

Maybe I just hate it in general. Yeah, I think I do. Hopefully it gets resolved quickly or I am going to get angry.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the episode. Reminds me a lot of Shakugan no Shana (twincest garden villains anyone?), which I really loved. And it seems like the real story is just getting started. Unlike say, Sunday without God, I don't feel like that's a bad thing.

Good episode i guess but i really wish we learned a bit more about the brother.
Was he being possessed, and is that what made him attack his sister or was that the kind of person he was?
Natsume?...Natsuo? Whatever the "spirit seer" chick makes really funny faces and i think they alluded to her being a familiar.

Yeah I totally agree. For me, I enjoyed how she looked originally and then this happens >< Feels like Natsume was just a pawn. Hopefully Harutora, his hair still reminds me of pikachu, can get Hokuta's original body back

It feels like a bait and switch to me, that's probably why I hate it so much. Like, here we go with 2 episodes with Harutora and Hokuta basically on the verge of becoming a couple, and then the rug gets pulled out from it. It's just distressing and makes me angry.

Ugh...it also makes me angry that Harutora has rebounded so quickly, just because she was a familiar. You can't replace people. If it continues like this for too long, it might ruin the show for me.

But she was really someone else who is right here if he can figure that out or someone will tell him who she is so I am OK with it...

I'm pretty sure the only reason he rebounded was because Natsuki told him the real Hokuto was still alive somewhere. he's still hoping to be able to see her again. if he wasn't such an idiot, he would've already figured out who she really was.

Urgh you people and your logic.

I guess the deal for me is that Hokuto seems like a distinct person on her own, so until it's been established in my mind that Hokuto=Natsume totally, I won't be happy about this. Maybe for some of you what's been shown has been enough (and I'm sincerely glad for you), but right now I can't accept it.

Flipside is that if they resolve this right, I could end up realllllyyyy loving it.

yea, I guess I can see that too. in my mind, I've already thought out that Natsume was Hokuto in whole. but the one thing that leaves me unhappy about is it really cheapens Hokuto's death.

Hokuto is nothing more than a tool made by and possessed by Natsume to get harutora to become her familiar. Hokuto was never a person or being on her own and therefore even though the body/shell was destroyed, noone actually died. Harutora was unaware of this so it helped to move the plot along nicely.

I understand what you guys are trying to say, about how it cheapens the event, but there's really no death to cheapen here.

I'm behind on episode 3, but I remember how cool the ending of episode 2 was when Harutora was able to see things now as a spirit seer. Also, that song that played when Hokuto saved Harutora... I'd like to hear it again.

Well, based on the intro it seems to be a sure thing we'll see Hokuto again. It may be silly of me but when Natsume said the dragon's name was Hokuto I was beginning to wonder why does a familiar and a dragon have the same name and basically what the hell is going on? I enjoy this anime so plenty of time to resolve things.
