Oh, then you haven't gotten to Nyanta yet. That one will take willpower to appreciate but since all the speech patterns seem to be re-written to conform more to Western gamers, I can stand most of them for one viewing. Never again though. Nyanta might actually work if you only consider him as a Western gamer.

The hell.

You can't tell me the official dubbers honestly didn't realize the whole Errol Flynn thing that Nyanta was based on?

They either didn't notice or didn't care.

Has anyone given the Dub a chance so far? I know the official release isn't till the end of the month, but Rightstuf shipped it out super early so I got my copy last week. I only watched the first episode so far and so far it's only ok. Shiroe has a bit of a deeper voice than I would expect, but it's not hard to get used to. Akastuki/Maryelle/Henrietta all sound perfectly reasonable and I have no complaints. Naotsugu on the other hand sounds pretty bad imo. He has a much deeper and raspier voice than I would expect and doesn't really give off the almost lovable goofball that Naotsugu pretty much is.

.

My copy shipped today though its technically a Christmas present I wont be able to watch it till then. I really like the original Japanese cast but was looking forward to trying the dub out. Will most likely watch it once just to say I gave it a chance but I'll probably stick with the Japanese dub after that because I prefer the sub over the dub in most cases anyways.

I started watching the first season in the past week. (Got Premium just so I could watch and enjoy, lol.) I love it so much!

Log Horizon has just become my new favorite anime.

In my opinion I doubt he will be an actual villan by the end of the show. He seems more of the kind of character that is devious, clever and a little coniving but does it all to help others and is not afraid of making enemies.

Apologies for resurrecting a thread that hasnt seen much action lately, but this is the most appropriate place to put this.

Trying to find a particular soundtrack from Season 1, specifically in episode 1, when Akatsuki is accepting the invite to join Shiroe and Naotsugu.

I swear I have listened to every track on multiple occasions, but can't seem to find it.

Please see the video below to see the exact point in the episode.

I'm a couple of episodes into Log Horizon and someone I've spoken to has said that the relationship between Shiroe and Akatsuki doesn't amount to anything romantic. Can anyone confirm this to be true? I find that hard to believe after all the teasing the show has been doing so far between the two, not to mention the ED as well. It'd personally be very disappointing if so.

It sort of leans towards romantic near the end of the season. But they're both so inept at personal relationships that it probably doesn't deserve a romance tag.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't expecting anything on the level of Sword Art Online in terms of romance, but it's a shame to hear that any intimacy between them seems to be very subtle. Would you by chance know this to be the same situation in the second season?

They've actually spent most of season two in different places, but I'd say there was a bit of improvement. We sort of have to wait and see what happens when they're in the same place.
Though for season 2, there's another couple that's more interesting romantically.

I see. Thanks again. I'll definitely stick with it regardless.

Well, I think the relationship improves toward more romance in season 2.

Mostly unrequited, which make it looks a lot like a decoy by the way. So far season 2 lacks consistency, but it seems that we could have great improvements with incoming episodes.
