Also maybe a spin-off thing that might *probably not* happen xD this is based of the idea of, all these new announcements of steam might reveal the one and only.. Half life 3 xD

Think about it. The US government goes down. Steam announces SteamOS, Steam Machines, and Steam Controller.

It's just a matter of time before we all forget what xbox and ps3 actually are.

Steam is quite literally taking control of the world.

And now, the meme is dead, since Half-life 3 is actually CONFIRMED. along with L4D3. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=688589 Link to the trademark files in case anyone didn't hear the news.

here is also a list of the team of people working on HL3 and L4D3. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=689145

Although, OP is quite possibly right, it could all just be one big troll. But for now, it all seems legit.

I keep reading how "next-gen" the controller is, but to me it looks bizzare and makes little sense. I really want a hands-on with it.

Dont see the point in it. An OS which most of your games wont work on and has reduced functionality over windows, but its k guys its by steam so all pc gamers must worship it . Basically its equivelant to windows 8, designed for consoles etc to use but being shoved on a desktop because why not, no need for anyone to actually use it

I can't imagine playing fighting games or anything sidescrolling on that controller, man. I need that precision four-direction button layout for my 2D games.

Linux doesn't have limited functionality when compared to Windows, I can do pretty much anything I want to, and the system is way more stable (instability issues on Windows is what made me try Linux. That and sheer curiosity). The only problem are the games (however, Valve garanteed they will port most of the AAA titles until 2014. Let's wait and see). And they kind of gave a temporary solution, where a Windows PC would do a local streaming to the SteamOS computer plugged on the TV (could be a laptop or an underpowerd but small rig). I don't think Valve you make that kind of move if they didn't have an ace in the sleeve, so I try not to especulate too much.
