Since I made the mistake of saying subs is way better, and it angered people who think otherwise, I'm just going to say I personally prefer subs.
Since I'm used to reading subs it doesn't bother me a whole lot.

Hmmm...I like subs better. Of course there have been a few dubs that I thought were just as good, if not better than the subs. Some of my favorite dubs are Inuyasha, Bleach, Code Geass, Wolf's Rain and Full Metal Alchemist. I thought the dub for Deadman Wonderland and Eureka Seven were also very well done.

The dub for Attack on Titan better be good when it comes out. The Japanese voice actors did an amazing job of putting emotion into the characters. The American VAs better not eff this up. -____-

If it's pre-millennium, then certainly subs. If it's afterword, then I don't really have a preference.

I like both and I don't think one is better than the other. Although, I think people over react with dubs calling them "Complete shit.". Yes, the subs give more emotion to the characters, But it's not like the whole story is twisted around and changed.

I smell a flame wars coming. I usually prefer subs but there are some good dubs as well. I prefer dubs of hellsing and cowboy bebop. Bandai usually makes the best dubs and its too bad they went out of business. Right now the worst dubs I heard are from Sentai where they need a better ADR director and a sound designer. Sentai's voice cast can do a good job but I feel the ADR director is not utilizing them well enough as they are good in other shows. Sometimes in the Sentai's dubs they have the sound effect of character talking indoors while they characters are talking outdoors. Sentai do have some good dubs but it depends who is on the localization staff.

I enjoy funimation dubs also but mainly if Jamie Marchi is involved as the ADR. Her role tend to have funimation's localization stand out more.

But since the western blu-rays and dvds usually comes with both dub and subs, I am more than happy. I do like to experience both once in awhile.

Argue or complain about which is better, dub or sub but realistically its pointless. People are going to argue about this as long as dubs and subs exist because this question all has to due with preference, not everyone is like minded and are similar in tastes so obviously its always going to be people's useless opinions of whichever side they're on, saying Dub over subs or Subs over Dubs. Point is this thread is just going to be a bunch of people complaining.

I don't think either is really "better" than the other~ I like both, and don't have a personal preference for either. It just depends on what I feel like watching that day (or if it's the only option I have).
There's a few series where I prefer that specific dub/sub, but overall I don't care at all!

Subs. At least the voice acting quality is consistent and usually good. Dubs can be hit or miss for me (depending on who does them and what the budget is), and even if they're good I prefer to watch foreign films / tv in the original language anyways.

i like both but i would prefer subs because i don't hear the same voice actors in every series(even though i have had times where i recognize a Japanese voice actor that was in another series that i had watched but i don't recognize them as often as when i watch dubbed shows)
Even though i enjoy watching dubbed shows so that i don't have to read the lines its just that hearing the same actors being used over and over again gets annoying and very repetitive and i will often lose focus in the show if they are voiced by an actor, in English, that has done many other shows
