Obey Elizabeth..

The episode was actually okay. Cassie got her ass kicked though which was a shame since I was a fan of her's. Julia just seems a bit too strong this time.

People are watching this show still? How did this even get a second season, besides, you know, boobs?

She did make a point that Cassie was ranked the lowest of the top 5. Of course, it isn't as if Julia is at the top of the tier either, but sometimes the gap between rankings can be narrow and other times quite wide.

If a certain person who was initially watching from the shadows had gotten involved, things would have gone quite differently (based on rank).

Speaking of rank, a PSA:

Anyone curious about the ranking of the top 5 Pandora should avoid doing any searches for that info, as there is a high probability of being spoiled on a major plot point. (For better or worse, I was already spoiled on it a long time ago).

Yes, the rankings can be quite a gap even if it's just one level between each other.
By the ranking system that is given, Cassie would be the least strongest of the top 5 so it does make sense that her ability lacks against Julia.

The last few episodes have move this anime up for me! I like the darker saga, the conflicts of what is right and wrong and we have yet to see a real Nova! So hang on!

One big thing for me is Chiffon's support of Chevalier instead of her friends!

Charles has me annoyed !With her "class society" attitude,Besides that her dad is at fault

Julia and the Sonic Wave!

I like Cassie even from S 1 . Wiil she ever write her novel?

I respect Amelia

Not Dead?? Or a clone?

First season was plot with PLOT which I love. Aside from random and often inappropriate Mabry nudity there isn't much but that is not what I mean by fun. Just some random fun to break up the dakness would help IMO.

Speaking of Ms. Mabry, if only her and Cassie (Godspeed of the East), as the speed of (laser) light beats the speed of sound by a good margin.

The problem with random fun this time around would be where to put it. The first series followed a more typically pattern, with no real plot developing until the last few episodes, whereas this one essentially dove in from the beginning.
Agreed but, playing armchair series composition director here, I think as long as the production committee is on board they have a duty to both convey the original story AND to keep anime viewers watching and hopefully buying. It is currently on track to sell only 2200 copies or so of volume 1 compared to 6200 copies of season 1 volume 1. That is way more than the usual season 2 drop. If I'd read the original material and I knew they were following it faithfully I could commend them on doing this even in the face of poor sales but I haven't read it so as just an anime watcher of both seasons I have to say it seems they have turned off a lot of season 1 buyers and that is generally not a good thing to do.

MAL doesn't list the directors of the series so I shall have to rewatch it and see from the credits if the same people are handling those duties this season.

EDIT, ANN to the rescue, same series composition director for both seasons, Masanao Akahoshi also wrote season one screenplay for episodes 1-4 and wrote the script of episodes 1-9 of Freezing so same guy, interesting:

People say there is another good arc to go after this season but with sales like that I don't know if they'll bother unless it is mostly an ad for the manga and other merchandise which could more than make up for poor disc sales with a franchise like this; or being done for purely artistic purposes.

The "show progress in E Pandora even if they go Nova" plot feels unbelievable to me. The girls who blindly follow orders... too much.

I find it interesting that one of those who is blindly following orders is from Germany. Apparently she didn't learn from her own country's history.

That said, I don't think most of them are blindly following orders. Either they believe in the "by any means necessary" approach to fighting the Nova, or like France's Pandora, it works as a good excuse for what they really want.
Some of them blindly say they are following orders, others say that even if they die with the Mark IV they are saving humanity by paving the way for them having enough Pandora to fight which I can accept. Others have ties to companies which is why many of us are hating on Charles right now for Chevalier.

It does sort of have a WWII drama feel to it, the mentality of many involved feels very old school. I half expect to see the 501st Strike Witches fly in to save the day...

I skimmed the next few chapters of the manga awhile ago and I wish it did get animated especially a certain fight, sadly tho I think this will be the last animated material...but who knows maybe the might make a few fan service ovas to try and boost sales.

6 fanservice OVAs, short, one per disc volume in Freezing are already known. If Funimation gets the home video rights then they should show up on the site.

If you are referring to the ones from the original series, they have had those for a while now. I watched them in dub format back in March, and they had the first 3 in subtitled format as early as mid-September of last year.

If Vibration has similar OVAs, I expect Funimation will follow the same pattern if they opt for a home video license of the series.

Yep! Vibration will be exactly the same, one short fanservice OVA per disc, 6 discs for the season so 6 OVAs.

So I watched this because the summary seemed interesting. Season one was decent enough to keep me watching. Season 2 I struggled through the first 3 episodes and am trying to convince myself to keep watching. In season one Kazuya was cool because he was so unique and the love triangle kept me watching eagerly awaiting him to finally get baptized and hopefully give himself and Satella a boost in strength. So far this season Kazuya is pretty much MIA and most of it is just the girls lounging around the pool...

This second season is definitely NOT about lounging around the pool so if that is your worry, keep watching. Personally, I wish there was a little MORE lounging around the pool this season as it is actually pretty dark stuff.
