Depends on type of game. Usually play my own music instead, except if it's a single player game.

It helps get you inside the game, also I use a 1000 watts sound system with all my tv setup so it really is important that the game features music or atmospheric sounds for me. A plain video game without music would be so boring imo. Though i did play DayZ and WarZ and in those game you dont get to have any music and very little atmospheric sounds and yet it's still a fun game to play in my opinion. I guess it depends on the style of the game first.

Music adds everything, and makes the game, the mood maker, basically. Can't go without it.

It enhances the game experience, but that's it to me. I tend to listen to my own music when I play MMORPG or ever FPS.

The only music I've ever enjoyed was halo theme song music.

It adds to the experience. i find it important because the right music with gameplay can make a game more epic. big games like Halo, skyrim, and even cod ghost have awesome soundtracks.

I don't think music in games has much of an impact on me. I feel it's still lagging behind movie/music emotions. That could change in the future though, I'd be excited to see that.

It matters a lot for me... I mean if a game is more story-based then the music usually makes or break it, you wouldn't want a happy song playing when everyone is dying right? unless you are something...xD so if a sad song plays it gets more epic and the scenes have a stronger impact.. as for games that aren't heavily focused w the story and more on uhmm the gameplay? nothing beats a badass tune while beating people up..lol

Music sends out more emotion for my than any other media. Try playing a game without music.

Its essential. No ifs ands or butts...buts. Brings more from the scenes, game-play, and more than anything helps keep interest.

Well for some of us. Music is everything.
And I have a very weird music taste (from heavy metal to smooth jazz), but I do stand for it.
I can't imagine a life without music, I can't even sleep without listening to some music...
With that said, I listen to music from Anime, Games and normal music.

It really only matters to me if its my favorite franchise or if its an RPG. If it isn't the two, I usually don't pay much attention to the music unless its a really cool cutscene or moment in the game.

It's in the middle for me because I've almost never been a fan of Videogame music, and have at most times opted to just listen to my mp3 player. But beyond my own interests, I'd say it's important overall cause if SSBB didn't have music then people wouldn't draw the feel that connection to the game.
