I just...do.

It's not that hard for me to keep track of all the anime I watch.

Notepad.

I use Notepad for everything. I think about half of my personal files are Notepad files.

I don't keep track. To start counting the number I watch means I've quit being an Otaku in favor of becoming a statistician. It's similar to what Twain said about the river after he became a pilot.

I use Notepad.
I have terrible memory and it helps me to write down what anime I've watched when people ask me to recommend them stuff. After that comes the part where I have to remember the specifics of the anime to give them a good explanation with no spoilers. Damn near impossible with my bad memory.

I usually update My Anime List at the end of a season. I tried to go back and add all the anime I watched previously, but it's pretty hard to remember how many episodes of whatever show you watched 5+ years ago. Feels kind of pointless, though, since it's become so easy to watch anime as it's released.

I keep my own database on my computer so I know which animes I'm watching, which episodes I'm on and how much I currently like the anime. I use ANN's encyclopedia to discover new animes I want to watch. Currently, my database stands at 1084 animes in it. But, It's always changing as I add new ones and remove ones I've finished or dropped.

Just wondering what anime database site people generally like to use. I know most people use MAL, but I see that Hummingbird is getting more popular, and personally I love Anime Planet.

Apologies if there are any popular sites that I omitted from the poll such as ANN (only had one more answer I could use, and not sure what's more popular between ANN and Anidb.net, so I decided to go with the site more dedicated to cataloging). Any other website just vote as "Other" and say what it is.

*edit*

Thanks for participating in the poll guys, I'm finding these results interesting. I probably should have made another site an option instead of anidb.net though But oh well, that's also good info to learn!

sadly this is the first i herd of them, I just watch them, find them on my own by serching for certain types of anime, i guess ill try one of these

This poll makes me sad since when I made it I was a big Anime Planet fan. Now that they redesigned the site though, I can't really stand to go on it anymore. It's less intuitive and way laggier than it used to be

I note down everything I consider a "true epic" (which, to be honest, only currently contains Mirai Nikki, sword art online and puella magi madoka magica in terms of anime) but I just leave everything else unrecorded. If I can't remember that I'm watching a show then I probably don't like it enough to have the enthusiasm to watch it all. At the same time I don't record all the movies I've already watched so why would I do it with anime?

I just use my memory to remember what I've watched. Watch history also helps too.

I mentally keep track of what I have watched, so if I forget I watched something it just means it didn't have a good impact on me or probably wasn't entertaining enough.
