I can't much attest to radio or television since it's all in Japanese here and my Japanese isn't that great.

Also, continue rejecting those expectations. We need more non-conformers and less 'sheeple'. :P

I'm glad we worked that out

this is such a stupid question. if you're trying to get advice on pickin up chicks just don't bother cuz no matter how you act if you're not being yourself its just gonna fail in the end unless you're just lookin for a fling that involves gettin the girl drunk. Just be yourself and don't be a douche plain and simple. Its not hard just be a nice and treat girls with respect and if they still don't like you then they're not the right one for you thats just how it is.

what do women find lame about us guy

Men who beat around the bush, yet are insistent.

Also, I want to know what is it about us men that we do for women to keep us as friends and not anything more than friends?

That is completely arbitrary. Women have different taste in men. You can do a million nice things for her, she is no way obligated to romantically like you regardless.

Well, I would be lying if I didn't say that it has so far been entertaining. However, I spend a lot of my time hopping from place to place, collecting Pokemon stuff, because well, Pokemon. :P

I live here for the time being. It's not permanent, but I've been here for almost 3 years at this point. I know enough Japanese to hold a conversation with someone provided that they aren't speaking so fast that I can't mentally translate (if that makes much sense).

I learned mainly by reading a lot of books, picking up relevant conversational bits from drama shows and anime (I know, that can be horrible if it happens to be wrong) and there are classes you can take here (depending on where you live, I am sure) that help you learn conversational Japanese. There are quite a few students here who want to brush up or improve their English and you can usually work out a deal with them: teach them conversational English and they will return the favor by teaching you conversational (and popular slang) in Japanese. :P

It's subjective. Though, most people fail to remember that it's human nature and deep within the subconscious to stray away form things that don't offer 'good breeding' signs. Again, not that everyone is looking to breed but it's natural that that first unseen instinct is to dislike what is not immediately appealing.
This is the only post worth reading in this thread. In fact, I think I got a little turned on.

Honestly, a guy who can buy me McDonalds when I feel sad. That would be freakin awesome.
I can accept this as a reply, too. Just because it's cooky.

The rest of the posts in this thread can easily be summed up under "I can't acknowledge that I'm looking for a partner that can be my father."

Being condescending and egotistical and acting like my opinions are not valid are the biggest turn offs for me about guys. I see them as equal and expect that treatment in return. Unfortunately sometimes that is too much for them.
You should see Lockout with Guy Pearce. And hopefully get real angry when you imagine that I'm Snow and you're Emilie.

keep it real and simple, be yourself, think bout limitations also; doesn't mean your friends you can do stuff like, "hanging your arm to her shoulder" even tho she has a boyfriend. you can do it unless she wants to or if you're that close enough. Boys can get carried away easily esp. if they really like the girl
