I know you're in Canada, but depending on which iTunes you use, the Tiny Lamp EP has actually been released on American iTunes.

Not sure if iTunes Canada has it but most likely they do. Changing us to ca in that link still works.

Call me crazy but I am back to physical media, especially anime related. I like to get the actual cover and booklet in Japanese. iTunes has lost some of the old albums I bought, I forget to back them up, the burned CDs don't last as long... but mostly I would rather get the actual thing so I get to enjoy the artwork every time I play it. Quaint? Eccentric? Perhaps LOL

Haha no, no, I understand, at least in part. I like physical media for video (DVD's mostly), but I'm super anal about getting album artwork right in iTunes. We all have our weird quirks, anyways :D

Some physical discs I get and there is not much inside and I'm disappointed. No lyric sheet, no other pictures, just a disc and a single sheet which sucks. Almost might as well have used iTunes in that case. But some are really great, some soundtrack discs are like the whole season condensed into 2 discs with every soundtrack, TV size versions of OP and ED and all insert songs, lyrics for all and some pictures inside and front and back and sometimes on a separate cardboard sleeve as well, just perfect!

The Monogatari ED CDs are fun as they have anime pictures of the heroines plus the singer cosplaying as those heroines, lyrics, music videos, photo shoots, just a lot of fun extra stuff.

Same goes for videos. If I get one and it's just a disc in a case I'm really disappointed. I mean, I check before I order but sometimes you still hope the description was just unfinished and then you get... a disc in a case and you really hope for some good on-disc bonuses! But the best bonuses, extra CDs, manga and novel volumes, bonus episodes, event footage can be really, really good and much better than just streaming it here.

These days if I'm going to buy it on iTunes that's good for some support I suppose but I think they get better support from a physical buy which shows up on the Oricon charts. I'm not sure they track digital downloads, especially on iTunes USA/Canada. So that's my other reason for buying actual merchandise: sales support. A silly reason or the most important reason? Depends on your opinion.

Sadly, this show's presales rankings say the video discs are going to do very poorly I just hope the manga gets a boost, already volumes 9 and 10 which came out last month and this month (weird) have ranked while they never ranked before so even with the anime just starting it seems like the manga got a boost which is good as it can be the main reason for anime to come out.

Sad, yeah, but I guess not super surprising to me. Compared to some of the heavy hitters this season, I'm sure Gingitsune has gone kind of unnoticed.

Many shows will bomb this season, including this one. Was never going to sell well but break even is very far away.

KnB2, VV2, LB! Refrain, IS2, popular sequels will rule this season. Maybe KlK, StB, Arpeggio. Even NNB has a chance of doing alright which is nice.

Episode 5

Decent episode. It gave me a feeling of nostalgia for some reason. However, the biggest plot twist to me though was the fact that Haru is a....

Not quite as melancholy as Natsume's Books of Friends, but has a similar sentimental feel.

This was a pretty good episode becuase it shows the history of Haru and the boy Satoru's grandfather.

It made things a lot more sense to me. Knowing the characters past is a big part of character development and now we get why Haru react that way to Makoto although that herald is annoying as heck...

Also , I am really glad to hear Toshihiko Seki , Tomokazu Seki and Shinichiro Mikki , and Kazuhiko Inoue san . These guys are pretty much veteran seiyuu that I admire so much and they are in one anime all together, Especially very happy for Toshihiko Seki for having a lot of speaking parts as the shrine dad . He hasnt landed on other role for a while ... I met him many years ago and he is so nice . Back then I only knew him as Iruka sensei in Naruto.

anyway, I am looking forward to the day I will meet Mikki san. He is the only one I have not met among the 4

I know a lot do compare this with Natsume. One of the strong points in Natsume that is weaker in this anime is the soundtrack .. The music in that series really help creat the right mood.

Aaaaannddd Gin with the troll of the week moment during the reunion. Nice way to bring it all back together.

I CANNOT WAIT for Makoto's two girl friends to come crashing into the next episode...Haru's jealousy should be in full swing xD

Episode 6

Great episode. Even though not much happened, we see a more gentle side of Satoru as he bonds with new friends and gets a more welcoming atmosphere to his new environment.

Haru's jealousy was a bit irritating to watch but I think she also understands Satoru more now.

I feel like I'm the only person who likes Haru, even when she gets jealous. It just fits her character.

I also really liked the flashbacks scenes Gin and Makoto have of each other lol

Nice episode, picking up the pace a bit with chapters 6&7 of the manga covered almost verbatim though we never got to see the picture at the end so that was a nice touch above. ^^^

Not sure where they will end it as they have done 2 chapters in an episode, 2 episodes for a chapter and a few chapters in their own episodes. It isn't like there is a goal they're working toward, it is just a wonderful supernatural slice of life story.

Still love the OP!

Think I said it a few pages back, but seriously... This show has the best facial expressions ever.

I enjoy the show anyways, but I'd always have to come back for that.
