Hello!

Did the licensing terms for streaming HxH in Switzerland suddenly change? Because I noticed I can't watch it anymore..

I find that rather disappointing as it was one of the best shows still airing here. I'll probably not renew my membership in that case, as there is just too few shows (I'm interested in) available here.

In future it would be nice to somehow get a notice of licensing changes like that, as you probably know where I'm from.

Agreed that CR needs to improve their communication on license changes. FYI - you'll probably get a quicker, more detailed response using the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page:

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

Looks like HxH didn't launch with broadcast rights for Switzerland, and I couldn't find a thread detailing expanded territories: /forumtopic-735436/new-fall-titles-hunter-x-hunter?pg=0. Are you sure you've always been detected as a Swiss viewer in the past?

Thanks for the link, I was looking for that. I guess they made a mistake there and only corrected it now. This would explain the disappearance.

The same expanded territories for both Hunter x Hunter and Chihayafuru were mentioned a couple of days ago in one of the season lineup announcements: "U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Turkey, the Caribbean, Central and South America." Look below the section on Nagi no Asukara at http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-822987/new-fall-simulcasts-strike-the-blood-nagi-no-asukara-phi-brain-season-3-little-busters-refrain-teekyu-3-and-white

(Speaking of which, those Chihayafuru videos still don't seem to be available at least for me over here in Finland.)

I got an answer from support if anyone is interested:

Hello Lyphos,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Switzerland, Belgium and France were available through Genzai, which Crunchyroll was hosting. Since Genzai has ended service, those regions are no longer available. This announcement was made on Genzai and not on Crunchyroll. We apologize for the inconvenience but are happy to inform you that we are trying to gain the rights back for the show! However, I have no further update on when or how successfully we'll be.
Regards,
~Kippu

Please keep in mind that we did just expand Hunter x Hunter, so we're working on these other countries as well!!!

(From the news post)
Also, we are now expanding the territories list for Hunter x Hunter and Chihayafuru! Both series are now available in: U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Turkey, the Caribbean, Central and South America.

I have no information on if One Piece will be available in Europe & the UK, but I'll make sure to pass a note to licensing to try for it!
