Mobile Suit Gundam
As long as Bandai is selling model kits somewhere, this show will continue in some form.

Not to mention "Gundam" is to mech anime as Final Fantasy is to JRPGs. It's the franchise everyone knows.

It did completely redefine the Mecha genre. It showed you could do more then just super robots fighting monsters and laid the groundwork for how diverse the Mecha genre would eventually become.

And just like FF, the franchise that truly never dies. Was is the main series of FF on now? Like 15?

Plus a couple sequels, a few spin-offs and some remakes.

FMA is still really popular and is one of those shows that will get compared with anything that comes close that genre or type of series. I honestly have no clue what you are even talking about for that one.

I guess I mistook this thread to be about franchises that keep going along, not shows that are unlikely to ever be forgotten.

That makes a lot of sense, maybe I mistook the thread. I don't see them doing anything else with FMA, but that author is still creating some pretty great stuff and as long as she is creating something her old masterpieces will always be mentioned.

K-on
Gurren Lagann
Soul Eater

Avatar the Last Airbender
AoT

Rozen Maiden
Angel Beats

Kill la Kill (probably)
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha
Monogatari series

Revolutionary Girl Utena
Watamote

I tried being as objective and realistic as possible. There are many more series that deserve to and should be immortalized, but aren't mainstream enough, and a lot of people tend to be too narrow minded to watch them. Mostly the people that need to have action and boobs every 5 seconds or they aren't interested

Cowboy Bebop, it's old... older than me probably, but I never stop hearing people praising it as a "masterpiece"

Sailor Moon and Pokemon, intended for little kids, but became big amongst adults. I still see 30 years old people playing Pokemon on their little Nintendo thingy

Nope I got over it a long time ago... I used to buy two of those gameboys to trade pokemon with myself.

I tried to get back into it, but it's lost its magic for me, but I'm glad the magic still lives on for others

The thread is about shows that have ended or are about to end that, because of their popularity, they refuse to die or the fanbase refuses to stop talking about it even after say 15 years (e.g Evangelion)
