Solid pun. 10/10.

Totally got beat to the boat harem comments, so I guess I'll just remark that I enjoyed the battle & found the tea scene quite interesting. Wondering if this might go the route of Blast of Tempest & switch up who the "bad guys" really are. Like maybe the ships are actually protecting the humans from something worse?

This made me LOL.

I'm liking this show so far, even though I'm not crazy about the CG animation. It works fine for scenes where it's just ships, subs, missiles, etc., but it doesn't really work well for the human/humanoid characters. I might have an easier time adjusting, if the character movements looked a bit more fluid.

Despite my issues with the animation, I find the concept fascinating, and the naval combat is pretty thrilling.

The premise is still out there and this really is silly if I think about it but you know... it is fun and enjoyable! So I will keep watching this.

I think we're supposed to say fleet instead of harem for this show...

I'm getting the feeling this is an animation first show, by that I mean the creators had the look for the show decided and then just slapped a story together later to justify each episode. I mean there are so many plot convenience moments in just the first two episodes alone to make the show maddeningly awful.

So let me try to wrap my head around this; there is a boy conveniently enough in naval officer training who's father, an supposed traitor to humanity mind you, happened to somehow commandeer an advanced technology warship and somehow was able to reprogram the AI for said warship to wait in exactly the same training school for his son to be in perfectly the right place and time to meet the avatar of the AI for the warship and despite the fact that such a commandeered unknown super technology vessel would be more classified and protected than the space program manages to steal the ship from the Navy. Oh then he conveniently enough goes from rouge agent stealing classified super technology warship and being labeled a traitor to humanity to having a crew of conveniently enough his classmates who we still basically know nothing about and being on speaking terms with the naval military and intelligence agencies of the surviving nations. Also apparently submarines can be retrofitted with surface ship armaments without going into dry dock, never mind the whole unknown super technology element.

Sorry to say it but this feels like a straight to DVD B-movie without the weak acting, oh wait!

I'll concede that there are more than a couple of things glossed over in the first episode, like how did he get the crew, for example, but are we really at the point where we view every anime that comes along through the lens of "realism." 'Cause not a whole lot of anime's are going to hold up to that, not even slice of life romcoms.

I f*cking knew it. The OP for this show is done by the same person who did the OP for Btooom!

It's been bothering me for a while why I thought it sounded familiar.

I get somewhat of a similar feeling considering they are both weapons of war.

Except for the fact that it is based on a manga... that kind of blows the whole "slapped a story together to justify each episode" aspect...

I agree! A laudable pun! Very praise worthy! My kids would have groaned audibly to that one!

I'm finding a hard time really "caring" about anything that's actually happening in the show. It feels like stuff is just happening.

I'm looking forward to it though, seems kind of unique.
